Advice on what to do

This really irritates me. I just sold 50% of a 1960 Topps Tattoos Set on Ebay last week. Along with the set, I sold an unopened pack. Well, just now I get the following email.

"Tatoo came today and is very beautiful. Unfortunately, I thought the tatoo was unopened and unknown and was going to get it graded as such. But Vernon Law is easily seen through the wrapper making the item less desirable to me. I'd like to return in its same condition. Thank-you."

Normally, I work with the buyer and would just take a return. However, there is no way that the pack will get the exposure that it had last week because I have no more Tattoos to put with it. It sold for $78. I replied with an email letting him know that the pack WAS indeed unopened and that PSA would grade the pack as is. (At least I think they will). What do I do?

Law's name was clearly visible through the wrapper in your auction photo, i looked at it. mention that to him.
  • To be honest, the way things are on eBay for the ease of returns, there is nothing you can do if they really want to return it.

Not what you want to hear.
  • Sucks, I had one guy say he didn't agree with the grade a card got and that he wanted to return it...it was a $700 sale. I'm not sure if you have a choice but to accept the return.

What I think happened was that after winning it, he saw that there were a few of the same for BIN's of $30 and $40.

Does the player show on all packs? If so, then he really has no argument.

    Good for you.
  • Sucks, but PayPal will not rule in your favor.

I have only seen that one in person, but it is my understanding that you can. Plus, you can see it on the scan.

Unfortunately, Ebay would not rule in the sellers favor. It has become too easy for buyers to just return itmes after purchasing, even if they make the mistake. I can see if it was not as described or damaged, but that is not the case.

EBAY/PayPal has become an "approval service" for "buyers."

Yup.... There's nothing you can do, buyers are protected in every way possible, including unborn children and wrongful death of a laptop.

i edited for you Storm....i still take issue with the fact that DEALERS are allowed to lie and i will continue to enlist the support of eBay/PayPal when i receive something that is other than what i purchased and expected to be what was described.

my most recent episode is with a vintage card purchased from a big-time eBay dealer, tons of feedback and a lack of attention to obvious creases.

so i opened a case due to the fact the card was advertised as NEAR MINT and included a comment in my complaint about how an experienced dealer should know better.

he whined in his reply that i scolded him.

GOOD! that's how it should feel. tired of this BS with cheating, shifty liars.
