    Duplicate thread...has already been discussed....

    $50 Silver thread
"Bongo drive 1984 Lincoln that looks like old coin dug from ground."
  • I saw that thread, but figured since I was saying end of the year $50/oz and no poll, I should create a new thread.

I think it has an amazing chance to hit $50 and beyond honestly.
The FED is now finally telling some of the truth about the real problems facing our nation economically. You have revolutions and unrest in all corners of the globe. You have governments falling all over the planet. And you have masses of people not trusting their governments.
China and Russia taking a hard stand against the U.S. over Libya, could lead to a lot of ugly images. One being the Chinese stop buying our debt, and then unloading what they already have.

I see silver only going up.

Even if our government got rid of the dollar and brought in a new form of currency, like some talk about the 'Amero' or SDR's, it'll still be a failing system. You cant fix something that's broken by design. Americas economy has been broken ever since 1913.
To fix any of this, will require major changes. And with change always comes fear. And with fear of this kind, I think a lot of people are going to be getting into the PM's even more so than right now.

$50 an oz is easy to me in our current climate. Add some other elements and $50 or more is easy too.

$50 silver will not happen until there is a physical delivery default at the CRIMEX, I mean COMEX. It will happen.

Natural forces of supply and demand are the best regulators on earth.

I'm in full agreement with the Captain, and have been saying the same thing ($50+ silver) for the past 3 years.

Re. Crimex, I think many manufacturers are already bypassing them by buying directly from refiners or mints. Is this not true, and if so, doesn't that fact already portend the de-facto downfall of the Crimex? That, and the alleged 50-80% "bribe" to settle for cash on contracts already shows there's a growing disparity between the paper and bullion prices.

One being the Chinese stop buying our debt, and then unloading what they already have.

If they want to further destroy our economy who will be buying their cheap Chinese imports? They should just bomb all 3000 Walmarts. It will create a similar effect.

I think we'll see $50 for a 1 oz silver Englehard or SAE/Libertad/Maple purchased from APMEX or other leading bullion dealers before the year is out. I won't comment on what paper silver might end up at since it's a different item altogether. This current leg by May-June should get the paper price to $43, physical to $45+ just based on the Jan-March upleg adding $10. This most current upleg that began last week will add another $10.

I don't think the theory of 50-80% cash bribes on the Crimex holds water since any knowledgeable trader can maintain a straddle position and then get a free 50-80% on their longs
when they hit. Before you know it everyone and their brother would be in on the "fool proof" game.

The rise in silver has me perplexed. Baffling really, but it is what it is.

I sure wouldn't stand in the way of it.

Interesting that there is a lot of pessisim on the pm forum by some very smart folks. In reality it's exactly why it can continue to go up. All the TV/Financial pundits who have been speaking of golds/silvers demise over the past couple of years are STILL beating there chest that it's doomed. In the meantime they have missed one heck of a ride. Only those with a microphone can be heard at times. Personally, I never trust advise from folks that have no skin in the game. They only have a vested interest to be proven right in theory so they can eventually say, "I told you so".

Were barely at the end of March and already at $37+. I think we could easily see $40 pretty quick and $50 not too far down the road. I think there will be some resistance at $40, just like at $30. But once it overcomes the resistance at $40, we will be well on our way to $50. I believe that $50 will be reached no later than June. Just my opinion, but that's what I think.

I wouldn't be surprised to see $55-60 by years end. I may be wrong, but I hope I'm right.

Just my $2 worth. (2 cents adjusted for inflation)

I don't see the possibility of hitting 50, there are no drivers. Just remember silver is just as much an industrial metal as a precious metal; thus, more Middle East unrest and sovereign debt issues in the EU will not necessarily cause further increases in price (gold maybe, silver I doubt it).

Do you still feel that way? And what are the odds of silver hitting $35 again this year?
