Pinpointer

Hi folks!

I'm visiting from over on the Sports Card Forums and I have recently pulled out my old White's 3900 that I've had since I was a teenager. I've just been using it around the yard here and finding a few coins and mostly junk stuff. Back when I used it frequently years ago, I didn't have a pinpointer. I did a Google search and saw many reviews and information on pinpointers. Could the veterans here recommend one that will hold up and not break? A lot of the reviews mentioned switches breaking after a few months, or not having good sensitivity.

Any recommendations?

I wish I could help you, but I have the sunray dx-1 probe. It is very nice, but pricey. I have tried the handheld models, but they tend to be persnickety with me. -Dan

First let me recommend the forum www.metaldetectingforum.com it is a friendly, super informative group that is fun and very helpful. I use the Pistol Probe, which is a PI unit. However, the Garrett ProPointer is receiving rave reviews and has no reliability problems. It has been in use for about two years (maybe a tad less) and I have yet to see a bad report. Good luck, Cheers, RickO

I love my Vibroprobe. I wear headphones all the time so the vibrating works great for me and no switches to break. Cost me $99.
