Poll - Sunday silver open: Up or Down? Too late, market opened

derrybderryb Posts: 36,995 ✭✭✭✭✭
Lots of fortune tellers here among us. When the market opens on Sunday will silver start up or down based on the weekend's developments? I'm goin with down, just on a hunch that there will be a flight to cash.

Poll closed. Silver opened at 35.40 from Friday's close of 35.28 per kitco's 6 pm New York quote. Congrates to the "up" crowd.

Can someone tell me where Silver Seek gets their numbers?

They're already showing silver up 22c and it's been going up and down for
hours now. My understanding is no markets are open until Japan opens at
5:00 PM central on Sunday. (ten minutes)

For purposes of the poll I'm working with the kitco New York open Sunday evening. Don't know where Silver Seek is getting their quotes unless they have their own 24/7 trading platform.

The dollar is dogging and the oil supply is threatened - I will guess it's going up this week.

I suspect that they are basing their change in the market basis the Friday afternoon "close," and not the Friday afternoon aftermarket, which was up.
Just a guess. Never heard of them before.

All things considered, I would call this a pretty normal Sunday afternoon bump. Nice, but nothing special.
