    From the scans I'm guessing:
    #283 is a PSA 3
    #286 is a PSA 4.

    Good luck!

Knowing Neal for some time - I think you're barking up the wrong tree.

He's referring to the cards - as such - and their scarcity - and in no way is it an endorsement or an allusion to the event.

There's plenty of people who collect the Horrors of War cards - e.g. - and in no way is that a characterization of the collector.

I have a collection of 1936 Olympic cards - unfortunately Hitler is part of that history and the cards.

And last - the tagline for the Horrors of War: "to know the horrors of war is want peace"

Oh, so your saying he's intending to collect these and not resell them? Sounded like he was going to resell these...

Do your Olympic cards have the swastika or the image of Hitler on them?

  • The swastika is actually an Indian symbol that was stolen and perverted by the nazis.

Censorship of it is an effective way to help people forget what happened, which is precisely not what anyone wants. Those who fail to recognize history are doomed to repeat it.

And of even greater significance, keeping the sordid history of what happened during this dark time in the collective consciousness of society can help people become more introspective and try to better understand the flaws of the human condition in an effort to eradicate them and evolve beyond them. Hitler is routinely demonized as a monster, and rightly so, but several decades after the fact, it's easy for us to forget he was actually a member of the human species who was psychotically flawed, to say the least. Instead of just blowing his ideas off as insane (which they most certainly were) it would be beneficial for all of us to better understand them so we can recognize them in order to eradicate them.

Unfortunately, I say all this from a very misanthropic (but well-intended) perspective, because I think many of Hitler's psychotic afflictions are present in many humans today. They're just way less severe. And I only hope one day that we, as a species, can become truly evolved and sophisticated. Because even in modern times, I think most of us are nothing more than glorified savages who lack compassion and empathy for others.

PSA has no problem grading them, it is ebay where they are banned (if complained about). Don't use key words Nazi, Hitler etc. and they should slide by. List them as what they are "horrors of war" cards.

It's history. It is from the time it was happening. Over the years what happened (history) seems to change with the mores of the day. It is interesting to read old history books and see how things were portrayed in the past. If we sanitize events of the past or delegate them to things unimportant or just too wrong to discuss it will occur again. We know the havoc Nazis did to the world. Rather than hide all evidence of it we need to remember the consequences of it. We should be on the lookout for those who would try to bring about a Socialist system and Nationalize commerce, especially those who would use force to bring it about.

  • Morning All,

Mike and the rest, thanks for the defense against the Clown neilskneels, but he is just an Alt who somehow has it out for me, I believe it is also who I suspect is the same idiot that has been asking Inane questions from my listings on E-bay using the e-bay ID badsantaneil. You'll notice as well as using my name, that neilskneels also has added Yeehah to his sigline, I mean come on! you think were idiots here! Badsantaneil has been blocked, but that is the third or fourth time that neilskneels has contributed nothing to one of my threads and altough I usually tend to ignore little yippers nipping at my heels out of jealousy, it is getting tiring, so maybe I'll just call Carol on Monday and at least start the process!!!

    Have a Great Day!!
