Just purchased 57 Engelhard 1oz bars from a local dealer.....thats 57 down and 143 to go! Also have my APMEX order being shipped tomorrow. Gonna be one helluva friday metalporn!
Before I got the silver today, I decided to take the car out for a spin....nice, dry and sunny today here. Stopped at a gas station to fill her up and the guy at the next pump complimented me on the car. Then asked if it was the 6 or the 8 cylinder. I said it was the 6.....just couldnt resist!!!

When an XKE pulled up on the right.........
He rolled down the window of his shiny new Jag........
And challenged me then and there to a drag..........
I knew it would happen.

Jan and Dean gets lots of play in my vette!
Yep, I remember back when I used to drive a 'Vette.
What a babe magnet it was!
Glad I kept a pic of it ...
Glad your getting your gals back
<< <i>I miss driving my bird sometimes, till I recall the mileage. High compression 428's weren't known to pass a gas station even with a 26 gal. tank.

16 city/ 28 hwy......and yes, that 28 is a real number!
Getting them back slowly.....although I may stop short......I have reached a "magic" number of sorts in silver. Not sure what direction to go next!

I plan on it.....as soon as my training program with the U.S. Navy SEALS is completed.

That's good for any car. My bird could only get 10 if I really tired by neutral coasting at every chance and never doing over 50. If I drove it having fun it was 6mpg and at the strip it's 15 gallons race fuel for a five pass night. That's a lot of silver.
Turn on the ignition and the needle would drop 1/8th of a tank........Good days

My younger brother "collects" vettes. His prize possession is a '69 Convertible with that motor. He's had that car since about 1972 and it's pristine and original. He also has a '66 T-top with a 327, and a '73 hardtop. He's also got a ('73?) Monte Carlo with swivel bucket seats.
I collect mostly bullion and Large Cents, but my supercharged GTP is plenty good enough for me.
I knew it would happen.
So that your brother will immediately increase his respect for you and your knowledge of his hobby,
a corvette hardtop is referred to as a COUPE
a convertible is a ROADSTER
and there is no such thing as a 66 t-top. T-tops started in 68.
no charge
edit: Your aunt may have had a ZL1 in a 69 but LT1's didn't come out til 70. Again, no charge

streeter, the only thing I can say to you is that the '66 is a hardtop with lift out panels on top. To me, it has always been a T-top, and it's always been a '66.
Maybe I confused myself with the ZL1 thing. It's been a long time. Does a 428 sound right for the '69?
Now, I'm gonna have to get the full explanation from my brother and document the whole thing back here? Sheeeesh!
I knew it would happen.

And the highway in question is U.S. 24 West of Wilkerson Pass, Colorado. Ten miles straight, downhill all the way, with not a billboard or a tree for a cop to hide behind. You can get that 28 mpg with your foot off the gas and still hold 55.
Or hit the gas and see what she'll do. Me and my brother (who lived with me for a while) used to test our cars there, as did a few other people......

Your right, I've always had a memory issue in those years and motors.
Monte Carlo with swivel bucket seats.
LOL I once fell out of a boat tail Buick that had that mod .
