Home Precious Metals

Picked this up recently, need help.

No, it's not what you're thinking and btw, yes it's me...Rich

I paid what I feel is a hefty premium for it because I had not seen anything like it, or even aware of it...and had to have it. All I've been able to determine is that there was only 5000 made. I don't know how many have been NGC/PCGS certified, so if anyone knows, please pass that along and also what is fair market value for it?
Please don't say you'd just melt it, I know better than that lol.
I do have the black Smithsonian bag that it comes with but unfortunately no COA. Will that make a difference in value? tia

Ahh, I didn't see the "5 oz". There are apparently 1 oz, 1.5 oz in silver, as well as gold examples.

It appears that the New York Mint added a 5 oz version to the 1 & 1 1/2 oz version. Privately struck proof bullion. I prefer the 5 oz US Mint pucks...they're less expensive.

So US pucks are cheaper and can be found more easily? That makes me feel better about paying a premium for this. I've asked (emailed) a local dealer about it and he said he'd pay about 15% more than I did for it. If I didn't like it so much, i'd take him up on it. There's a person on eBay trying to sell it for over $700. No one has bought, but that gives me a better idea as to value.
Thanks for the help. The more I find out about this 5 oz'er on the net and from those who have a clue, I like it that much more! Definitely unique and a good find at a jewelry store that just wanted to flip it "because the holder is too big and takes up too much room in the display case." LOL
Did I mention it is in the same size holder as the ATB's?
