Now I have real close to a full ounce of Engelhard bars
Green Country Mint "From Graceland to the Promised land" minted in 1978. Serial # 34 (out of 100).

What size are those Scottsdale, just 1 oz? They look pretty big!
I saw them today on the ProvidentMetal website (they have also their own now).
<< <i>Pretty good. I like the two cent looking side and the fact that they are reeded. The Bison side is just ok - kind of flat. Kind of pricey for what they are but I bought one roll for the novelty of it. Cost me $40 for the roll. >>
Thanks! I agree, the 2-cent side is pretty nice.
I was thinking the same, they are pricey but one roll wouldn't hurt my pocket.
I will probably go with the indian.
<< <i>I found it odd that they did not make it a troy oz >>
I think that's because copper is measured in standard pounds (which are the avoirdupois), so they made 1 AVDP once round.
I may be wrong, though.
I knew it would happen.

Oh god. Please make it stop.

That is a SHield Nickel design. Notice the cross at the top and the ball at the bottom of the shield, and where the arrows cross behind the shield.

That would certainly make sense.

er, too bad it's in that weird, illiquid shape

If you're offering the matching half dollar to me at an equally attractive price, I will graciously accept!

D. Carr is fulfilling an interesting niche in the pm market as a private minter. When I compared the premiums for other palladium and for the US Mint's array of collectible bullion, D.Carr's pricing is comparable.
Weird is one thing. Illiquid is yet another. I'm thinking that these 1/10 oz. palladiums will be quite liquid when the Mint comes out with a premium-priced 1 oz. palladium coin.
As to weird, it's kinda funny how the Indian Chief design took me about 11 months for me to get used to. Ultimately, I decided that I kinda liked it.
Hey Weiss:
I knew it would happen.
Baley, if you are hopelessly attracted to it, make me a reasonable offer and I will find a way to assauge my anguish at having to part with it.

FWIW, if I were still working behind a counter and some body came in with a privately-made 1/10th ounce palladium round that I had never seen before, I would probably pass unless the person had several of them and I had the time to do a specific gravity on one or two of them.
I would have no hope of selling it retail, and if the S.G. did check out I would probably offer 80% on it and ship it off to a refiner I know who does platinum and palladium.
Now that I am familiar with it, I might offer 85%.
