<< <i>I would not do business with anyone who seems to routinely block people for asking legitimate questions. What do you think will happen if you REALLY have a problem with a purchase? >>
Dont feel too bad, I got blocked by an Ebay seller because I was guilty of being a "friend" of someone that they had a bad business dealing with. Talk about an IDIOT!
ebay doesnt allow sellers to leave "appropriate" feedback. blocking a potential problem buyer is more damage control than being a control freak. ive blocked people for starting thier question off with "HEY"
regardless of how many posts I have, I don't consider myself an "expert" at anything
<< <i>Or, open a 2nd account under a different name and bid with that account. Ebay does allow two accounts for the same person. >>
And if a seller realizes that you've circumvented a block, the transaction can be canceled and both of your accounts closed. Getting around a block is expressly forbidden by eBay. >>
+1. Regardless, I would move on. The seller isn't worth your time if he blocked you for that.

Have your wife/girlfriend open a account. I was going to say to use your dog but they probably have a rule against that also.
To get blocked over the question the OP asked is silly to me, but the new young ones like lots of rules and have time to be ebay enforcers for free on the side.

<< <i>Seller thinks the OP's quesion is a red flag for a return or future problem on the sale. Seller obviously feels like "why even bother with this buyer when I don't have to." >>
You should help test that theory.....send the seller a question saying "Excuse me, just wanted to say 'hello'". If you get blocked, then the seller just nukes everyone who uses "ask a question". If you don't, then they only nuke those asking about the coin being auctioned.
I'd do it, but I already asked a question about a coin, so they blocked me >>
lol
I gave a well known seller a 4 star and you would have thought i gave him 20 negs and i was nice about giving him 4 stars. I usually just skip the ones i did not feel were 5's but this forum convinced me to give more correct ratings to sellers. It should have been a 2 or 3 star tranaction but since i have always given 5 stars and positives to all i was surprised to get nasty emails when it was not supposed to be traceable. BTW it was a well known forum poster and since i use my dogs account on Ebay he does not realize i post here. I let the cat out of the bag and i will be nuked on ebay tommorow by the double secret police if they can figure it out.

A few years ago bought a coin from him raw on ebay. In hand it looked cleaned, so I returned it. He gave me a little grief ,said he was happy to get it back and planned to send it to a TPG. Months later I did buy an 07 $10 Indian in NGC 62 from him so I guess I wasn't blocked for the return.
I have had at least 10 transactions with this seller and all went smoothly and the coins were "as presented." I did send one back that had some minor striations but I was treated well and not blocked.

I would not do business with any company that would have me as a customer.

This is funny. So a Coin World crapster had to change his name to be an eBay crapster.

He has full page ads in Coin World. I decline to comment on the remainder of your post.
