<< <i>My impression is that they are all prooflike. Am I wrong? >>
Everyone that I've seen at shows (a few dozen) looks just as prooflike as the NGC PL slabbed examples I've seen (maybe half a dozen). I thought PCGS initially agreed with that since they refused to designate any as PL examples (presumably because they were all PL), but it appears that maybe some are a little more PL than the others??? I'd rather keep the coin raw in the original capusle and display box anyways!!
Good grief. Just checked ebay. These things are auctioning between $2500-3000. Will these things stay high or is this a fad like the 1999 silver proof set? I mean, beautiful coin, but for $2,500-3,000 I'd rather have a real saint in ms65

As far as I can tell, these are bieng bought and held. So, I expect prices to stay this high for a while.
I believe the "proof like" label is really referring to a "cameo" appearance. Two different animals in my book. I would expect a proof like designation to be based on the fields not cameo like details. From what I've seen on the PL designation with these coins they should have received a "cameo" label instead.

I've seen NGC coins with the PL designations and without. The ones with were noticeably more reflective, but it's the kind of thing that's tough to capture in photographs.
I purchased this one shortly after PL's became available from NGC. I belive it was the first PL to sell on ebay. I paid $400 more than the price that raw coins were selling for at the time (which was $1550).
Mine was an early graded one. MS69 First Strike. I don't plan on sending it back to try for the PL (I think by the mirror background it would most likely be PL).
