Reverse Proof Silver Eagle HORROR!

My PR70 Reverse Proof Silver Eagles are getting MILK SPOTS!!!!!!!!!

What can I do? Is there a way to save them from ruin? Is it too late? Is all lost??

Worst case... will PCGS buy them back? It's going to break my heart to part with them if I must.

Nothing you can do. As for PCGS buying them back I'm unfamiliar with what they do regarding milk spots..

I would not worry. PCGS and NGC offer great spot review and the best guarantees. I have used them both for spot review and was completely satisfied. They will either fix them if they are minor or give you the market price of the coin or the option to downgrade to a 69 and give you the difference of the market value. I sent a PCGS Reverse Proof 70 First Strike with a minor spot(more like a water stain) and they removed it for me. I still have the coin. You have to pay for shipping/insurance to and from, but spot review is free. Please check with PCGS though.

I held onto my NGC PF 70 Registry Set for over 5 years with no major problems of spotting. However, I could not take the chance anymore and sold off the set last year. Though I love the series, I no longer collect the series.

.I sent 2 PF's and 2 RP's all 20th Anniversary slabbed 70's to NGC for grade review because of spots and they returned 4 replacement 70's to me with the 20th Anniv. label, new edge view holders

Milk spots have been the bane of this series. It seems an acetone dip upon receipt (followed by proper rinsing) precludes this problem. None of my eagles have ever spotted. Cheers, RickO

...i think he made reference to distilled water for a rinse in the past but i'm not sure.

I rinse first in alcohol then distilled water. Cheers, RickO
