Cameron Kiefer Charity Auction: Final Results and a Big Thank You

airplanenutairplanenut Posts: 22,412 ✭✭✭✭✭
This morning I mailed off a check to the Cameron Kiefer Family Memorial Fund with the proceeds of the auction held here over the first few weeks of the year. This was the 10th charity auction I've held on the boards, and the generosity of board members never ceases to amaze me. There were 107 bidders, which surpassed the previous record of 104 set in my 6th auction in 2007. With 77 items provided by many generous donors, a total of $5600 was raised. Perhaps more impressive than the results of just one auction is the fact that over the course of 10 auctions, a total of $47,575 has been raised. To me, this speaks volumes about the online coin community, not just here, but also at NGC and other boards, who have been so supportive of these auctions, year after year.

So thank you to everyone who made this auction the success it was. And Cameron, so long, my friend.

Jeremy

  • I didn't know the guy but he must have been truly decent to have this level of support even with his late discretions, they always say you are known by your friends and it appears to me he had a lot.

Thanks for the good work on the auction. That is a substantial amount of money that will doubtlessly find good use.

I also want to thank the owner of the lot that I purchased from you auction for the 'bonus prize' of a nice 53-S red Lincoln. Such a nice gesture. My wheatstalk collection that I started in the late 60s does not feature RD condition specimens.
