Show Report: Old Bridge NJ

This was a very busy show today for a small show with about 15 dealers. Silver was selling for about $22.5 X Face for common 90%. I saw some goodies which included a 1803 Half that Larry from our boards had, a very unusual piece was a 1830 ish 30% off center large cent was with a dealer who also goes to the parsippany show. Also saw a nice PCGS 1893 Barber Quarter that was lightly toned and in a AU 53 or 58 holder. It was nice but I didnt have the funds at $185. Also didnt have my graysheet with me. I bought a number of proof sets at reasonable prices. Just wanted to post a few notes and say that coins are alive and well in NJ

SeaEagleCoins: 11/14/54-4/5/12. Miss you Larry!
Got there around 1:30...just in time to watch all the dealers pack-up!
Did get to meet & B.S. with Larry from Sea Eagle Coins and RDL.
Next month I'll know to get there earlier!
How does it compare in size and dealer attendance to Parsippany?
I'd hate to show up and see 1/2 the dealers with old baseball cards in their cases next to a stained box 1999 proof set, ......
<< <i>I wanted to attend this show, but didnt think it brought out the usual dealers in force.

Although I've never been to the Parsippany show, I'm sure that this show does not compare in size.
There are only about 15 dealers.
On the bright side, however, I saw no dealers hawking baseball cards.
Also, I was amazed to hear that some of the dealers came from as far away as N.Y. and Pa.
I hope to make the Parsippany show someday, and also the G.S.N.S. show in May.

Man, that was the busiest I have ever seen that show... not complaining though
Sold everything from Buffs to SLQs to Barber and Seated...
and picked up a few nice coins, as well... a couple Seated Halves (nice choice Everyman grade coins) and a truly choice circ 1803 sm 3... darn near circ cam
Also, purchased a couple raw DBHs along with a nice original 1808 CBH from a gentleman and his wife. They had shown them to me a few months ago and decided to accept my offer. They also showed me a nice $3 Gold piece that does look like it could be a Proof, along with a $1 Gold piece. We will likely be sending it in to our hosts in the near future, as i suggested this before they attempt to sell them.
It was nice to meet Quattrocoins
also, RLD14 gets a minor yousuck from me for his score today. I will let him tell the story. About a Barber, of course
Folks, this is a nice little central jersey secret, this show. Small, homey and run wonderfully by a true gentleman, Matt Sulikowsky and his wife (the boss) Michelle. The absolute BEST Egg sandwiches for $3.50 and IMHO the best Sausage & Pepper sandwich in all of NJ for $4.50... so if you come, bring your appetite with you. He also holds a free rafffle or two at each show.
It starts up around 9 and usually settles down around noon or one
come on by sometime ... worth a look-see
one thing to add... a sort of Ricko type story

Nice meeting you and Bill, Larry.
I'll be sure to get there earlier next month!
You were right to pass on the Joan Rivers Seated Half!
I got there outrageously late... didn't get there till about noon or so. Larry was busy so I put my food order in. Like Larry said, Matt, who runs the show is not only a heck of a nice guy but also a fantastic cook. He does this "Eggs With the works" sandwich that's outrageous.. and only $3.50. So while I was waiting for Lunch.. poor Larry was waiting for my sorry butt to show up so we could eat.. I walked the floor.... One of the dealers had what's a solid Fine 1895-O Barber Half, with nice skin on it raw.. in a 2X2... marked as a VG.
I picked it up for $38! That's less than half of bid, so I was stoked. Again, I suck.. a little but I do suck nonetheless.
Towards the end of the show Quattrocoins showed up, it was great to meet him and always nice to meet a fellow SLQ collector.
