Done with the US mint

I just got my uncirculated 2011 mint set - $37 shipped
. What a complete and total ripoff. I just cancelled all of my subscriptions. I am through with the Mint.

I've read a lot of unhappy reports so far, however, mine looked really nice.
I can totally relate to your reaction slipgate.
But after quitting all of the above what's left? Stamps? Postcards?

Talk about quality.
Someone was asleep at the switch to allow a die like that to be used on proof coins in 1957.

Well, I am sure that they have gotten rid of him by now........

Evidently he's still on staff to hear the complaints.

<< <i>That $5.95 a pop shipping can kill ya! >>

That would be neat to see, can you supply a photo when you capture it?
Thanks
JON
But it's nice to have the complete set all together
So I get a couple each year
just be patient and wait.
<< <i>Just to be clear. I have no problems with the quality. What I have a problem with is paying $37 for $14 worth of coins that I could pick up at the bank. I don't think the packaging is worth $23! They have priced themselves out of the market. >>
I'd like to know the location of that bank.

Good point. There are so many NCLT's in these sets you could not duplicate the mix at ANY bank.

What is an "NCLT"? I don't understand why you wouldn't be able to pick these up at a bank. They are just dollars, quarters, nickels, dimes, pennys. Are you saying these coins are not intended for general circulation and distribution?
In the current year's offerings should be able to get 2 cents, 2 nickels, 2 dimes, 10 quarters through normal banking channels - and apparently this year the striking of the mint set coins is considered to be the same as the commercially circulating coins.
<< <i>Ever since they started charging for each shipment, subscriptions are a joke. I try to get all the sets I want at the same time. That $5.95 a pop shipping can kill ya! >>
Where do you live? My shipping was only $4.95 this morning.
