New lense arrived, and a couple recent Barbers I haven't shown

So I've been looking for a specific lense for the Olympus D420 I have, and low and behold, one popped up at an excellent price Sunday night on fleabay. So I bought it.
It arrived tonight, and I just had some fun testing it out. Soooo much nicer lense!!
Since these were home, I figured I'd give them a quick shot and post them up. I probably need a focusing rail, and a little more tweak on the lights, but this lense is soo much faster and clearer ... glad I splurged for it. It's the Olympus 50mm (100mm equiv) F2.0 Macro
Anyway, for the crusty fans ...

And not so crusty, because I want Ricko to look too!

Seriously I love that Barber dime!!
Are you happy with the quality of the glass?

and yes ... it's an excellent lense, very, very clear
Thanks Tom ... low tech for the most part too ... no copy stand, no fancy lights. But I think I'm happy with the combination of lense and camera now

I would prefer to see a solid background though.
I just think it makes the coins stand out crisper.

I know I am past my bed time if I can't find a Barber Thread.
Great images, Todd !!
Thanks for sharing !!

here's one more ... not Barber stuff, but just a shot inside of a small cermaic bowl with a few pieces of silver tucked inside

I'm just getting into this stuff, bit-by-bit.
How much space do you have between your lens and your coin when you're using that 50mm lens? You know, it's basically a lighting question!
I've been using an Olympus 3.2MP. Just recently picked up a Nikon D90. I haven't used a real SLR in ages. I'm still freakin' out with all this new ...stuff.
I collect the halves, though. Where are their big sisters?
