found some silver quarters in my room

I found part of my old quarter collection i thought i sold off . 50 quarters of various dates. from 34-64 Coinflation had the price between 230-290 to sell Is this really what 50 silver quarters bring in this market when the market is around 30.50 an oz? could it have been a good thing that i forgot to sell these when i sold my other silver on here. Then it becomes since i didnt miss these coins do i keep them or do i sell them and is the price ihave listed close to what i would get?

  • Back in 1982 or whenever the Hunt Brothers tried to corner the silver market I pulled out something over a hundred dollars in silver to sell.
A friend asked me if I really needed the money. I told him no. He said in no uncertain terms to take it back home and put it away and keep it. Silver was around $20 an ounce then. I still have the silver and am trying to decide if this is the time to sell or if it will continue to rise. I have no more than $3.00 on the dollar in any of it and much at face value.

My friend has long ago gone to the great bourse in the sky and his greedy son got his coins. I don't even have a greedy son to leave mine to and therefore the thoughts of selling now. My problem is I seem to have a problem parting with my coins. I guess I am a hoarder and a pack rat.

atarian you could put those silver quarters away like an emergency savings account were you sell when you really really need the money. Or you can sell it and buy something good for your collection imageimage
Right now you can expect at least 20+X per fv on the bst. I bought some 90% at 21 and 22x per fv recently.

  • I was thinking of trading them for $1 star notes. I figure if i get them for face thats 250 or so notes to look at. if someone wants to make that kinda deal at 250 id probably sell them they are all different dates no duplicates

  • I would keep them as I think silver is headed much higher. Also, it might be a good idea to keep some junk silver for an emergency fund or for a worst-case insurance policy.
