Congratulations!! You had better get some darker lenses on your sunglasses; because that card is stunning.

Mickey71, this is not directed at you so please don;t take it that way.

1 great looking and sharp card , I like it!!

But , from a grading perspective , if this were on ebay for sale by a large submitter and someone started a thread, "these guys get all the breaks" , I bet this thread would be getting a completely different response. It would be "how does this card get an 8? if I submitted it it would be a 6 or 8oc at best. " and so on .....

just something to think about next time anyone wants to be negative about big submitters.

and finally nice looking card , great pic and color , borderline centering , glad you got the benefit of the doubt from the grader

Really nice card but I'd expect an 8 maybe only 1% of the time. Glad you got the best of it there!

Nice card Mickey. Love the clarity on it especially. I Gotta get one of those Epson scanners to.

I don't think it's overgraded, but I do know that the graders are REAL TOUGH on the 1962's....I have some PSA 6's that are SPOT ON from the set......head scratchers for sure.....maybe they are finally loosening the reins on this set?

    Nice card Mickey.

Color is spot on and registration appears nice as well.

    My only concern.........

    Does it rattle?

    Good for you.

If it was on ebay from a large submitter it might be in a 9 holder.....lol

    Good for you.

Wouldn't get an 8.5 because of the centering, but it's a solid 8 in my opinion and the print registration certainly helps - great eye appeal on that card - Very nice indeed!

The Aaron card was an SGC holder. The edges look fine. I think it's a nice 8 if you can handle 65/35 centering. The scan over emphasizes flaws....the EPSON is a great scanner. I pregraded the card as an 8. Did not surprise me at all when poppage occured.

Personally I am not a huge fan of the centering, but really enjoy the 62 Aaron card on the whole. Congrats.

I did not say it was graded as authentic. The grade was a SGC 86.
  • bobbyw8469bobbyw8469 Posts: 7,139 ✭✭✭
Awesome!!! I am guessing you totally cracked it out though....leaving it in the SGC holder, I doubt it would have crossed.....
  • Mickey71Mickey71 Posts: 4,261 ✭✭✭✭
    I did crack it out.
  • bobbyw8469bobbyw8469 Posts: 7,139 ✭✭✭
Good for you!! I am guessing SGC isn't such a bad grading company after all! Probably got it for a great price in the SGC holder as well!
  • Mickey71Mickey71 Posts: 4,261 ✭✭✭✭
Most times cracking SGC is not a delightful experience. They tend to let alot slide. I'm real careful with what I crack out.
