I like the coin. It has alot of detail left with no major blemishes. ( Based on those pics.)
It has been dipped in the past. Reverse toning looks somewhat normal for secondary toning.

The obverse toning doesn't look very natural. Could be the pics.

Not the type of coin I look for but many people would like it.

It might be the imaging, but it looks like it was lightly dipped some time ago and is now retoning nicely... L

Of course that coin has been dipped. Those colors don't develop like this on original silver skin 190 or so years old.
That said - what a nice coin.
I really wish that coin with all that dipping/secondary toning was in my collection image

a lot of meat on the bone to be sure! image

looks like it has 55 or better details ... the angle and brightness of the picture, and that fact it's a picture and not a coin I could inspect in hand at this moment ... doesn't help with whether I think it would grade or not

if a dipping is the worst of her issues, she's likely to go 55 or better IMO

and she is a good looker!

Something does not look quite right with this coin, but I would love to own it.

Mostly agree with previous responses, coin has wonderful detail, clearly AU. Dipped but not scrubbed, the secondary toning is quite colorful but somewhat unfortunately uneven; A coin that might improve from several years in an album or envelope (but might not). There are a few handling marks but not significant wear, first approximation AU55, but would like to see the coin in hand and tilted in the light, or at least more pictures taken in different light and from different angles. Could easily be 58, and actually, as high as MS62 wouldn't completely shock me in this day and age. Lower than 55 or higher than 62 would be quite surprising.

  • Far from original but very nice. I agree with most other responses. The quarter has been dipped and possibly cleaned. I like the toning on the reverse but the obverse toning seems unnatural. Overall a good coin and a nice find.
