They are paying $8.25 for clads. I doubt if there is much premium for the Blues.

I wonder how many Blue Ikes have been melted over the years. Some dates may now be scarcer than the 1973-S silver clad proof.

Is there a premium for silver Ike's still sealed in the original mint shipping envelopes. I have several 5 coin envelopes that are still sealed.

I don't really care for modern coins that have been removed from the their mint packages. I think a lot of other collectors feel that way too. The exception might be in the 40% silver Uncirculated Ike is in an album and part of the set. Therefore it would sell as a set coin, not a stand alone piece.

I'd compare this with Proof sets from the flat pack era. When they are out of the original flap pack and in something like a Capital holder they are harder to sell, and often not as nice. Oddly enough the old flat packs, if properly stored, provide surprising good protection.
