Rare or No rare?

It seems that about 95%+ of the old 10oz Engelhards I see in person or online are with a letter prefix serial number. This bar has no letter, just 5 places instead of 6 for the numbers, and has the weight expressed as 10.000 rather than simply 10oz as on most other bars. Earlier production perhaps? Rare or no rare?

Rarer than your average Engelhard. I believe they predate the letter/6 digit combo you refer to, but have no idea when they were made.

Nice early bar. I believe most of the odd sizes (3,4,7,20) were of this type (5 numeral).

Nice early bar but I doubt that it would bring much of a premium over other early Engelhard bars.

Early bar. One of the first type I think. No premium to the average joe.

I have a few 10 ouncers with the general setup your shows. But mine have 6 digit serial numbers starting with a number 1. The 10.000 weight follows the .999+ fineness. About 10% of the bars have this setup, but none with just 5 digits.
