A friend and I just received 522 ozs (122ozs are mine) of JM and Engelhard silver bars from Tee135.
It was a lot of fun just separating and counting all that. Thanks again Alain!

Also got my ATB set from AMark and picked up an Australain Lunar Series I Set (The dragon is on the way)

ps...anyone know what size airttite fits the Lunar coins?

Here's a neat set I received yesterday... One of the earliest privately minted bullion out there.

  • Picked up this 4oz Illinois Sesquicentennial silver medal which a former owner had assayed! Why someone would have it assayed when it's marked .999+ FINE SILVER on the edge and had all of $7 worth of silver in it in 1968 is beyond me. Also my A-Mark 5oz silver rounds came in this week. Up to 300ozs of Ag! Keep on stackin'!

First buy of 2011 ASE's arrived...

This is one of the 1982 Sunshine Silver Proof Sets. The 5 oz puck is neat, but the 1/4 & 1/2 are really unusual. Each coin is stamped on the size with the number that matches the little bar. For $30/oz, it was hard to pass on...

I mentioned my consolation purchase in the ethics post yesterday: a partial roll of silver halves.

Got these at 19x face. 64 Kennedys with a couple of 1911 Barbers. The one on the left there is a 1911-D, which is a better date, though it's G-4 at best.

  • My art bar purchase for this week..........................

    image

    image

It is a 1-oz "Emmett Kelly" silver art bar (TRG-12). This GreatHouse Productions silver art bar was minted in 1979 and it also had a mintage of only 175. This was also an ebay BIN purchase. I bought this Monday (January 31) and I paid a total of $92.49 for it (spot silver was $28.05/oz at the time of purchase). The serial # is on the side of this bar. Serial # 124. I will admit that I overpaid for it but I love collecting GreatHouse Productions silver art bars and I had no success finding one locally at my local dealers and I had no success finding one at any coin show.
DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a '70's silver art bar expert but I try my best to play one on the Internet.
