<< <i>Wuss. Don't you have PM in the form of a jeep? >>
Thats my 2008 Jeep Unlimited (4 door) X in the far right. I dont know if 4x4 even matters when drifts as high as 4 feet are blocking the roads!
I wish TJ was running when we had the snow here in Atlanta a couple weeks ago. Stupid blown CPS.
I'd say I'd make a trip to mine for ya in spirit, but he's closed on Sun/Wed.

<< <i>Ok, wife just left for work 5 minutes ago......she called 30 seconds ago and shes stuck about 4 blocks from our house in the Jeep Wrangler 4x4. I told her to not go, but her boss insisted she make it in. Now shes stranded and I cant even go help her cuz im at home with my 3 year old and no other snow worthy vehicle. >>
Time to call her boss and let him or her call a tow truck and her employer should pay the bill 100%

The wife is now un-stuck, and has about 2 miles more to get to work. Hopefully all goes well.
<< <i>Well, finish digging out so you can come over and do my driveway.....
>>
Are you staying home today Tom? Take a look at the guy across the street from me! Its hard to tell from my pic, but the snow drift blocks his door over 50%!
She just called and is now about 1 mile from work. There was a line of 6 Jeep Wranglers she was in, and as the 1st one tried to make a turn onto a northbound street, he got out and shouted to the other 5 Jeeps "I dont think even a Jeep can make it down this street!". All 6 Jeeps...including my wife then turned around to take a different route. My wife said all she sees on the roads are Jeeps, and a solo Suburu.

I stay home every day. Picked a good time to retire.

Let them glory in it. Will help take the sting out of the $4 gas they'll be paying this Summer.
I lived in Central New York and Western Mass for 40 years before we moved to Arkansas, and I can honestly say I have never driven a 4 wheel drive vehicle in the snow. The last 8 years in MA I drove a 2-wheel drive 1/2 ton pick-up.
It's all about planning which path you want to take. You can't overcome the laws of physics.
My 1-ton Super Duty loves those 4' drifts (as long as they are not frozen solid) and has no issues with that deep wind blown snow. Add some moisure and then everyone has problems.
Go luck everyone over there. I guess it is time to break out your PM and polish it!
The drifts where they are are packed tight. Have to cut it into blocks with the blade of the shovel before lifting out the blocks. You could build an igloo with it. Other areas, less than an inch of fluff.
Snowing again from lake effect snow on the backside of the cyclone. Gonna wait for that to end.

Thank God I live in SE Ga. I have no desire to deal with any of that at anytime.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
<< <i>You guys with Jeeps need to get bigger rigs

My jeep wasn't running during the Atlanta ice/snow a couple weeks ago. Had my 2wd silverado with a few hundred lbs of wood pellets in the bed out every day in it no problem, just have to drive right. MI blood and living in the U.P. for a few years will learn ya just fine. Folks down here are idiots though with rain/snow.

Amen brother Wes!
I'm in middle Alabama that 1/4 inch ice a couple weeks back was to much white stuff for me & the dogs!
<< <i>Ya'll Northerners need to buy a Flame Thrower to save your backs from shoveling. >>
That would be fun....but what about all the water melt? Its going to be 10 degrees here tomorrow.
<< <i>You think you have it bad, it's 72 degrees here in NC and I'm headed to play golf >>

And back home?
Helped the neighbor with his driveway.
<< <i>Here in NW Indiana we weathered the strom fairly well. Would say snow fall was a total of 30". Storm began Tues at 3 pm and finally the last flake landed Wednesday at 5 pm. That's 14 hrs of blowing snow. Stayed home from work and got the snow blower out 5 times to keep the driveway clear.
Helped the neighbor with his driveway.

Where are you near? My wife and I used to go to the Dunes all the time, and about five years ago she got this idea that we should buy a second home over in that area along the lake east of Michigan City. We looked at a few places, but I managed to stall until Winter hit, and then drove her through there after a bad storm. She said never mind.
