Again, I have approximately $700 worth of cards that have not been returned to me and bking (Bob King) has not made any contact with me since MARCH 29TH. No email response, no PM response. What should I do in your opinion fellas? There is another board member who also has a significant amount of money involved who has not received his cards and is also receiving no contact. I hate to think Bob is trying to actually steal from me but this is CRAZY!
Not good, I need some advice on how to proceed with this issue. Do I drive to Plano, TX and file a complaint with the police on this guy? Everyone else seems to be receiving their cards and I am one of the closest people to him. From Plano, TX to Missouri. He seems to have fallen off the planet, or at least this board, and hasn't put up a post in almost a month and does not answer emails.
Why do certain members think it is cool to steal other peoples cards!?!?!?! This whole thread amazes me. I know that I am trustworthy and one other member here did right by me (Burke).....other than that, I am not piggybacking with ANYONE!!!!!!
Unfortunately, I haven't received my card either. It was just a PSA 10 Canseco rookie so I don't have much at stake. It could arrive tomorrow, but even if it does, the fact Bob urged so many people to go in with him on the reholder and then completely disappear is in poor taste.
April 15th was the last communication any of us had with Bob. He sent 5 of the participating reholder guys (but, not ALL of the reholder guys evidently) an e-mail explaining that he had been out of town addressing a personal family issue. He assured the five of us he CC'd in the email that everyones cards would be sent Priority Mail on Saturday, April 16th.
If he did this, everyone should have received their cards by now. But obviously, some have not.
I emailed Bob after April 15th looking for any updates.....although I subsequently received my card, I have yet to receive a reply from him.
I can tell you that myself and another board member haven't received our cards and between the both of us, we have hundreds and hundreds of dollars at stake. There is a huge paper trail on these transactions including board messages, private messages, specific banks where checks were cashed, addresses where things have been sent, grading at PSA, as well as other leads. If he proves to be bad and I am sincerely hoping he is just dragging his feet or hoping we will give up. I have a little economical car and I will call or drive to Plano, TX to file a complaint because I am sure the other board member will chip in on the expenses incurred to get our cards recovered. My PSA 7 1966 Mantle that he has is very sentimental to me and worth a chunk of change in itself. You think people are good and then you have to chase them down. I don't care if I had a very close death in the family. I would at least touch base with my fellow collectors within 7 to 10 days at the most and give them an update and tell them what happened. Unacceptable in any case!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are no excuses and because there are absolutely no excuses...it's hard to believe it ends well. The cards could be delivered by a cadillac to your home in a gold box and there is still no excuse. I am very sorry to all involved.
Tigerdean....since it has been so long....yes you should file a police report. If something happened and Bob has a reason for this he can explain it to the authorities.
Mickey, Unfortunately, I am about to that point. I am kind of waiting for the other board member who I have been in contact with to inform me whether or not he wants to join with me to put the heat on. If he doesn't for some reason then I will proceed by myself.
I truly hope everything works out for those that have not gotten their cards back. I got mine within a reasonable amount of time after Bob e-mailed us with the news he was about to send them. It doesn't make much sense that he would send some people their cards back but not all.

I'm real sorry you guys are going through this, as it doesn't make any sense. Is Bob in jail or in the hospital???
He's been on here for a couple years and has taken part in a few of the group activities, but this is not okay. If I were you I would do whatever is necessary to get your cards back. Bob has a lot of explaining to do.
I really hope those of you waiting on your cards get them back quickly.

Probably about time for a "Where are my cards Bob King of Plano, TX?" thread to start.
Question to any: when a card get reholdered does it keep the same flip# (so I cna start tracking those down)?
Yeah, they don't even reprint it. They just use the same flip that's in there with the card. Only the plastic is replaced, nothing else.
Also, I hope everyone gets their cards back. Unless the guy is in jail and can't make bail or he's in a coma, there's absolutely no valid reason for the lack of communication. No matter what else is happening in the guy's life, he should be able to make a quick phone call to someone or spend 2-3 minutes getting on a computer or someone's smartphone to update this thread. And if he's in jail, it begs the question, "why is he in jail?"
I haven't liked the guy since December, because right after I joined this board, he went out of his way to give me a hard time about something without cause or provocation. His comments were completely unjustified. A lot of people didn't agree with some of the points I was trying to make at the time, which is fine, because I don't expect everyone to see the world through my eyes. Unlike everyone else though, he went out of his way to make it personal and then never apologized.
I suppose the lesson here, even if everyone eventually gets their cards back, is that piggy-backing with expensive cards is unwise no matter who is handling the submission. If the total amount you're saving in grading/return shipping costs (as opposed to submitting yourself) is less than 10% of the value of the cards, it's probably not worth it.
Doesn't anyone else live near Bob that can try to make contact with him?
The Advanced Search functionality on this website sucks. I cannot get it to search for anything. All I get are error codes. Is it possible that another member can search for the last time he visited this website? Can a MOD do it?

I can't get it to work with Firefox or Google Chrome, but I can get it to work with Internet Explorer. I'm guessing your web browser has something to do with it.
Does anybody on the board live near Plano, TX and can maybe drive by the house and see if it looks like it is vacant or occupied? I will gladly PM the address. Dean
For the guys who are being ripped off....Are we sure they were even sent to PSA for a reholder? If they were to be stolen they probably never even went to PSA. I hate to say this but someone who will not take any sh** will have to announce that are driving right to his house and ringing his door bell. I had a situation with someone on the boards and when someone who lived nearby was getting ripped off also he was going to make the drive and he was going to kick some azz. Needless to say the USPS started to deliver cards. This was after excuses about trips to Sweden and every other excuse known to man. Are there any card shops around where this guy lives?
I emailed for the final time last night. I intend on driving to Plano if the cops say I must come there in person to file a complaint. I'm hoping to find someone in the area who can drive by the address and see if the house looks vacant or inhabited.
Everyone involved should get together and have a lawyer send a letter to him that requires a signature. Give him 7 days from the day he received the letter to provide a tracking number for the cards that he mailed. Failure to do so will lead to an official court summons. Its seems like a pretty simple case. its amazing how quickly someone will respond once a lawyer is involved. I never had an issue with a group sub but had a problem with the guy did my wedding video. He never responded to my wife or I for about 3 months. I sent a letter from my lawyer and got the video within a week. This guy seems like a huge scumbag. I wouldn't even waste anymore time trying to contact him. Don't bother with the police either. Chances are in a case like this they won't do a thing.
Also, for those that asked Bob definitely submitted our cards.......

We received card (cert # 16811978) in a cracked holder. Upon reholdering the card, we will review the card to confirm it meets the current grade and it has not been damaged. If any damage to the card has occurred, the card will receive a new grade based on its current condition.

A reholdered card gets the exact same flip cert. At least that is how they did mine.

With mine, they reprinted it. I requested going from the old "white logo" reverse to the newer style flip.

I hope you get a resolution to your cards.
