<< <i>Wow, who knew this would turn into a Lafayette thread. Sorry AB, the O's are a distant second. I love everything about what the Lafayette is: date, history, design elements, size, only commem dollar, first president on a coin etc etc..........FYI- I don't collect gold but the pieces that are being thrown up in this thread are to die for.MJ

I will assume that nobody owns one of the DuVall 4-E Lafayette Dollars. But so far in this thread we have seen 3 of the 4 remaining die varieties. Your's is a talented Duvall 2-B, Yellowkid showed a very attractive 2-C, and mine was a 3-D. Anyone got a DuVall 1-A to show off?

I hate to keep saying this, but I thought you said (in another thread) you were not very experienced about toning. I don't know if you are or aren't, but if you aren't, why do you question the graders at the major TPGs? I am not defending them or criticizing you, just don't understand, and I want to learn.
Best coin... hmmm, certainly nowhere near my most valuable, but given that we've got no Frankies posted, and given that I'm a Frankie guy and this is probably my favorite Frankie (nicely toned '58-D's are easy, but pink on Franklins is VERY rare), I'll throw this one in...

I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

I wonder if the one stuck in my garbage disposal looks that good by now.
Best is tough. I really like a lot of my silver friends, and they visit home often.
About 2/3rds of my favorites do not have proper images.

Better to just throw them in the trash can than use the garbage disposal, IMO.
Lance.
But this is probably my favorite coin and the coin that I payed the most for ....
