Update on Grading Draped Bust Quarters - Specifically 1806/5 (w/ pics)

A few days ago I asked about further clarification on grading Draped Bust Quarters because I was offered an 1806/5 in VF-20 ANACS (In a blue holder with no problems).

To give an update:
1. I have seen the coin in hand and it looks nice (No major problems).
2. Yes, I own the Tompkins DBQ reference (I have it on computer CD & LOVE It).
3. I asked for pics of the coin so that I could study it for longer than in the shop.

I got sent these pics and so-o-o, I ask for your expert opinions on this coin, I have my thoughts, and, if you wish, give me an approximate price I should pay.

Thank you in advance for your input.

Can't say about price but that sure is a beauty!

The picture has contrast issues, but I would grade the coin as a very choice Fine-15 that is just short of VF-20. If it were in a PCGS Fine-15 holder, I think you would find dealers asking "thin" VF-20 money for it which would somewhere in the $1,500 to $2,000 range.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Agree that the images aren't the best, but from what is visible, I would be between 20
and 25 on the coin. There are too many details in the hair and the feathers for anything
less than VF, unless there are problems that do not show up on the images. As for a price,
I will leave that to the specialists.

That's a pretty nice example! Lots of detail, decent (though not optimal) surfaces, the very minor marks well commensurate with the grade level.
I'd call it F-18, if pressed to choose between F15 and VF20 I'd go with the 20.

There is a lot of meat on that coin and I would not be at all surprised to see it in a vf-20 holder. In fact, I would be surprised to see it in other than a vf holder. However, in deference to other posters, I note some minor lack of hair detail, which I would attribute to strike. $1500-$2000 sounds about right. On no-problem coins of this type, I try to grade appropriately and price at close close to PCGS price guide prices. Greysheet is not particularly relevant IMO.
