PVC stands for Poly-VINYL Chloride. Whether this has any impact on silver bars, I will defer to Weiss.
<< <i>I suspect the ones they came/come in originally are pvc. However, I don't believe I've seen any evidence of PVC damage on the dozens that I own, and some are surely approaching 30 years of age if they're not older. >>
Many of my older 10 oz bars are sealed in PVC that is now cracked and discolored. The bars seem fine but I'm tempted to take them out of their PVC holders and to wash them in acetone. PVC was never a good choice for long term storage.

I am new to the physical PM's and would like to know best way of storage, i've been keeping the bars in their PVC sheets, I assume this is not good for long term?
Does it affect resell value if I remove the bars from the PVC sheet?

Art Bars remove them from their PVC sleeve & place them in direct fit holders if available for the size.
Bullion bars, keep in their originals plastic.
