Talk about a 50/50 split!

At today's close, my gold inventory was worth fifteen cents less than my silver inventory. My target has always been a 50/50 gold/silver split. I guess I should get my file out and even them up.

Sorry, I was bored and its been a slow day on the forum. image

Whats really amazing is you have your total inventory valued down to the very last penny!!!

I too have been lately striving for a near 50/50 split. Running the numbers on my "bulk" collection (negates any 90% laying around, or 1 gram gold bars here and there, etc) my allocation is:

    Au - 52.9%

    Ag - 43.2%

    Pt - 3.9%

I just did this same exercise over the holiday break. For years I strived for a 80/20 gold/silver ratio. The last two years I changed it to 70/30. However, I now find myself at 60/40.

    Three choices

    a) rebalance. sell silver and turn it into gold and get back to 70/30

    b) stand pat at 60/40 and keep buying and maintainting that ratio

    c) buy more gold with other assets to get back to 70/30

    I'm learning towards C

    I have done that too.
    A while ago my allocation was: Au 50% / Ag 40% / Pd 9% / Pt 1%.
At today's spot it is the following.

    Au 84%
    Ag 8.5%
    Pd 5%
    Pt 2.5%

    33.8% Ag

    44.2% Au

    21.5% Pt

    0.5% Pd

Last time I checked, silver was around 25%image

No reason not to let it ride.
