  • HERE YOU GO!!!!

20 minutes worth, I hope you enjoy!!!!!

    Norman Day 2
  • My weekend will now be complete! Maybe you need to get a little tripod to set up for these videos so you can use both hands on the cards.
  • What I really like is how he remembers so many of the players and you can hear him quietly saying oh so and so was a great player, some great memories there for sure.
  • He sounds a lot like the actor Alan Arkin.
Are you sure about that five minutes!?

  • Thanks for posting a new video Mr. Mug. The tape does remind me of Mr. Mint taking the last guy to the cleaners.

Good stuff, again. Those '60 commons were razor sharp.

Are you planning on doing more videos?

Is Norman really considering calling Mr Mint?
If he does, I hope you will be there to watch over the whole transaction and document it on video.

These are very entertaining and educational videos.

Who was the guy in the clown suit sitting next to Mr Mint?

Mr. Mug, do you believe Mint would offer Norman more or less than the guy he dealt with from Wisconson on YouTube?
  • stownstown Posts: 11,321 ✭✭✭
muggy - I skimmed through the video and that's a great find. However, as you stated several times, it all comes down to condition. Based on what I saw, which was not the entire video, it looks like they would grade around a 4.

For example, one '61 card you showed had 4 rounded corners and you said it would grade at a 5 to 5.5, which IMO, would not be the case.

    Good luck!
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

    Dave,

Good luck going thru all those cards. I'm anxious to see what grades you get on the 501 you submitted.

    5000.00 on grading
When you put it like that I would rather just buy a 1952 mantle or maybe anything other than 5000.00 worth in grading.
Did you send it cards that you felt were Nm or better or just key cards what ever the grade was?
Ive been putting off my latest sub for some time and mainly bc of the price. Im sending in 111 cards to PSA this month whenever I get time to make it to the post office. Im still not happy spending the 600.00 for those. I hope you used a good service and Im curious to see what made you send in for say a certain card. Condition looking for 7s or better or just to have them slabbed
Also if you know this already. What do you think the #1 card was in this whole collection?
  • To be clear...
$10/per on cards $100 - $500 declared value which wasn't that many, the majority were at a much cheaper submission price.

These cards are actually not really even in high grade (However, Bowman's are beautiful), but some of the early 50's and 60 I just needed to get in PSA holders, 'so much easier to sell that way and I should be able to recoup that money.

I just took great pictures of the 1970 and 1975 set and will post soon - these will be the first 2 sets offered. 1970.... every card has 4 sharp corners. My biz partner just said that we should have graded these but, all along I just planned on selling the sets to get some money back as quickly as possible...

    1975 too actually, you'll see...

    Stay tuned, very tuned!

  • I will always try to describe contents and description as accurately as possible and I always take pride in customer satisfaction.

That being said, this 1970 set is freakin' gorgeous, near mint! Literally, every card essentially has 4 SHARP CORNERS. It was bought as a complete set in 1970 by Norman, not put together individually. Centering is the only thing that varies (as usual) and is off a little on some top to bottom but, it really is a pristine set. Others are not gonna be in this condition, but this one happens to be.

Thanx for the update Mugster - I enjoyed the video.

Good luck on the sale and the submission!
    Mike
  • 1975 is really nice too and bought in 1975 as a complete set. They are all sharp, centering varies as always - but worth noting, I saw 1 checklist with pencil on it.

I will always stand behind by cards, packs, and most importantly, my word.

    Word!

May I suggest you throw the photos of the sets over to the Buy Sell Trade board also. More eyes on them wouldn't hurt.

Yes, I really have never sold through this forum before, I am just a collector and not a dealer or seller. 99 out of every 100 transactions on ebay have been as a buyer.

    UNTIL NOW!!!

I wanted to start with people that followed this thread and give them the opportunity first, but yeah - i guess I will be "all over" the BST boards soon and often.

    Thanks for the recommendation...

Essentially, YES! I got my friend to buy it and I am selling it with him / for him.

I wish everyone on these boards can come over and play...

    Good luck Muggy!

If it was me I'd sell it piecemeal.

I would not take blow out offers.

    Hope you max it out!

    Good for you.

Love the video Muggy, Good Luck on the cards with PSA, and on the selling of the Norman Collection.
  • MUGGYMAN WILL BE OFFERING/LISTING SETS ON BST TODAY WITH MANY PICTURES.

    1970 TOPPS BASEBALL MINTY MINT
    1973 TOPPS BASEBALL MINT MINT
1975 TOPPS BASEBALL VERY NICE (I DO NOT LIKE DESCRIBING SO SUBJECTIVELY AS EX OR EX-MT OR NEAR MT)
1976 TOPPS BASEBALL MINTY MINT, RYAN AND OTHERS REALLY MIGHT BE A 9+
    1978 TOPPS BASEBALL MINTY MINT
1981 TOPPS FOOTBALL VERY VERY NICE

I HAVE GOTTEN SO MANY INQUIRIES, ESPECIALLY ON 1970 AND 1973 TOPPS.

I WILL BE MOVING ALL THESE FOR SALE ITEMS TO BST BOARDS.

AT THIS POINT, I HAVE TO JUST HEAR ALL OFFERS TODAY AND MAKE A DECISION BY TONIGHT...

EVERYTHING WILL BE INCLUDING INSURED USPS PRIORITY SHIPPING AND IS MUGSATISFACTION GUARANTEED.

LITERALLY LITERALLY, THESE SETS ARE IN SUCH AMAZING CONDITION AND WERE BOUGHT AS A WHOLE (BY NORMAN) THE YEAR THEY CAME OUT, THESE ARE NOT HAND COLLATED SETS. THEY MAY EXPERIENCE SOME CURVING BECAUSE HOW THEY ARE IN THE SET BOXES, BUT THEY ARE TRULY MINT; TECHNICALLY NEAR MINT I GUESS.

IN HINDSIGHT, IF WE WENT THROUGH THESE BEFORE SUBMITTING TO PSA, THERE WOULD BE 25-100 CARDS THAT WE WOULD HAVE SUBMITTED FOR GRADING (AND NOT OFFERED FOR SALE), BUT WE DIDN'T AND WE ARE.

    THEY ARE REALLY THAT NICE!

SO IN SUMMARY, I CAN'T QUOTE A PRICE TO ALL YOUR PM'S - I WILL JUST BE ACCEPTING THE HIGHEST BIDDER, IT HAS TO BE DONE THIS WAY... I AM NOT LOOKING FOR BIDDING WARS, BUT IF I PICKED A PRICE I WANTED, IT WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN GONE/SOLD AT 8AM THIS MORNING!

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR OFFER 9ON BST WHEN I LIST SOON), I WILL CONFIRM RECEIPT ON EVERYONE AND AWARD A WINNER TONIGHT WITH A FIRM ENDING TIME OF 11:30 PM EST.

    THANK YOU!

    - CHUG A MUG!

Interesting concept. Can I ask one question?

When someone bids will they know the hi bid at the time?

Or is it a sealed bid process?

I ask because I am interested in one of the sets.

    Thanks

    Steve
    Good for you.
