this week then. it is going to be tough getting in the hall the next few years with all of the steriod era players being eligble. the writers are going to be really critical of alot of them. i am not saying that every player used steriods who played the last twenty years.

Jim Caple brought up a good point this past week on ESPN.com here.

Basically, he points out that the 10 player limit on voting is going to hurt deserving players, due to all the players (Bonds, McGwire, Palmeiro, Clemens, etc.....) who will probably remain on the ballot for years and years, taking up votes that could have gone to another quality candidate.

I hope Pujols gets in this year
  • At least show a scan of someone's rookie card to keep this card related.

That's a load of crap. No one will be hurt by there being a 10-vote limit. If you're hurt by that limit, you probably aren't a HOF'er in the first place.

I concur. Larkin, and possibly Morris, could make a big enough jump to where they'll get elected next year.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

I agree also about Blyleven and Alomar being the only 2 getting in, but we'll see in a few days...

  • ah, but the election to the HOF is sure to spur some demand for some cardboard, thus it is appropriate; besides the Sportstalk forum is full of nonsense football posts these days lol

Good read. And this is the best quote I've read in awhile (albeit off-topic here):

"I firmly believe that in a decade or so we'll look back on the current hysteria over steroid use in baseball and think, "Why were we so incredibly outraged over players trying to make themselves better?" Which, after all, is pretty much the attitude NFL fans take.
