Last 2010 addition to my Buffalo collection

Provided to me by the "number one (Pittsburgh) hockey fan". My image does not do the coin justice. (Scratch at three o'clock on obverse is on holder.)

Happy New Year everyone.

  • VERY nice - that's the way to end a year! Was that #1 fan Andy?

He'll have to wait til 8 tonight to see the Winter Classic - wonder if he's up here for it?
Have bought and sold on BST, many references available when asked.

Very nice looking example. Luster and strike both look very nice.

Enjoy it -- looks like a winner!

Man, I've been looking for a PQ MS65 or 66 1934-P Buffalo. Very nice.

It's not just me then -- this is a date I have had a tough time locating as well. Lange makes it sound like a fairly easy coin to find but there a re a few common dates that keep eluding me. This is one of them.

Why isn't it a 66? Muted luster? In any case, nice coin! I still think that PCGS gives out + grades to coins that simply deserve the next grade.....but that's another discussion.

It isn't a 66 due to the strike. The luster is great but the area just above the braid is poorly struck. There's also a hit on the Indian's nose.
