Opinions on this Flying Eagle Cent *Grade Revealed*

What do y'all think of this as a type piece? How is the strike? Grade? Any opinions welcomed!

Very nice. Min grade of AU58, may be MS 61 or 62. I once owned one very similar to this, that I submitted expecting it would get AU58, and I was pleasantly surprised when they gave it a 61.

Hard to tell from the images, but looks like an MS62 to me. It depends on how many contact marks are on the coin.

Ms62 just needs to have some luster for a higher grade. Nice looking coin though.

This, and the Buffalo nickel, are my two favorite coin designs. Very american and very beautiful! Not crazy about the small scratch on the reverse at 12:00, but that's being picky. The coin still looks 63.

Very nice strike. Well above average, IMO. No distracting hits or marks. Attractive and appealing.

Luster looks a bit muted.

I'd guess it's a 63.

What is the PUP? Looks like a cud as well.

It has a better than average strike with all of the eagle's feathers showing. The Mint State number grade depends upon the luster. If there full luster under the toning, the coin could grade as high as MS-64. If the luster is dulled it could be as low as MS-62.

I am in the ms63 camp. It looks to have good surfaces
has its share of contact marks over all a pretty nice looking bird penny.

the rim cud is the PUP, but you can see doubling on the UNI and RICA

looks almost full detail on the eagle.
au58 I believe- the reverse looks a little softer but overall nice coin!

At some point you should cross it to PCGS and get the variety labeled on the holder. It is possible that there will be a growing subset of collectors who want to collect all the 1857's since it is such and an interesting year for varieties.
