You're finding some good ones tonight image
I value that at "about $8"
Since he's giving 20% off on sale and asking $29,995.00 I guess it's not much of a sale after all.

I always get a laugh out of something in each listing:

I was the underbidder on the 1911 mpl tonight. A raw coin that was very nice, and then I saw this one. Too funny!!

Heritage sold a PCGS PR-64 R&B example for $30,073 last April so the price is not that ridiculous if the coin was a Proof. The thing that gets me is why anyone would buy a Matte Proof 1909-VDB Lincoln raw. I’ve seen veteran dealers get the attribution wrong on those pieces, and it’s not the easiest Proof to authenticate.

Of course the high prices are largely registry driven. If you are going to put together a complete 20th century type set in Proof that is the key coin because the estimated population is all grades is only 274 pieces according to Coin Facts.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
  • But you get $200 in Ebay bucks!

LOL, on a percentage basis he's closer to value of his stated designation than you are on the coin properly graded. It's a good bet that, this being so, you will still feel worse about your price differential than he will.

BTW I think they're $8-10 per coin by the roll. But there's never more than 10 proofs in a roll.
