repurposed GOLD!!!

when I was married I had a $1 gold engraved for my wife with her new initials as a goofy thing... she loved it! My daughter has always played with it from day 1... so I decided to get her her own!
This will be her first piece of "real" jewelry (soon to be 3). of course, we'll have to take it from her and give it back to her when she's older....

This is the "Before"... I was hooked up by a good guy on the BST, thanks again CarsonCityGold for a great transaction!

Another piece of gold lovingly crafted in a long tradition. Very lucky ladies in your house!

Here's one that my grandfather had in his collection. Can someone help me with the engraving? I can never read those things.

  • Theres bound to be a love token expert around , but i'll try my luck with LC. The C is clear , its the fancy L that i have possibly mistaken.

Anytown, USA, 1883 -- A cheap guy walks into a jewelry store and asks the jeweler, "Have your heard of scoundrels gold plating the new nickel with gold so to pass it as five dollars to merchants?" The jeweler replied, "Yes, but I assure you none has crossed my shop." The cheap guy then queried, "Could you execute an engraving on this nickel and then plate it with gold? For I wish my betrothed to believe same of this piece."

I'm fairly certain now that they're GL for Gwendolyn Loy. That was my grandfather's first wife's name. She passed away many years ago, and this probably belonged to her. That would be the simplest explanation. Thanks for the suggestions!
