old german medal

dug this today. its very small and thin. i think its german. can't make out the first word. looks like bewahnt. other words are von leid bleis allezeit
found possibly last silver for 2010.

    could it be "Bewahrt von Leid bleib alle Zeit"? - which would be approx. "stay protected from suffering at all times"

    The eagle looks to be German imperial (1871-1918). You should be able to narrow down the date by studying it in detail - there are several versions over that time

    Aahhh that makes sense. Had the oth er words translated but couldn't figure ou the first. I bet my krausse world coin book may have the time period.
    Pretty cool find. I've worked this spot hard and signals are few. Recent rains are helping out. Gophers like to push dirt around after the rain. Sometimes some deep stuff comes up.
