What's your dream coin?

GaCoinGuyGaCoinGuy Posts: 2,761 ✭✭✭✭
What's that one coin you do not already own, but would like too, and someday plan too?

For me, it'd would be a proof buffalo. The Buff is my all-time favorite series. Budget willing, some day I hope to own a nice example.

2 things I've always wanted....a nice 1955 double die penny and a UHR 1907 saint. I'd be happy as a clam with the recent UHR but the premiums are nuts.

Well, a totally original black/purple 1939 Proof Walker with just a touch of emerald glitter under that black mottled and thick skin to excite me in strange ways. I'd like to find it myself in some very old collection, naturally.

A capped bust half eagle 'fat head' (1813-1834)

I could probably save up to afford a damaged one (cleaned, ex-jewelry, etc) but problem-free MS or high circulated grades are very rare and super pricey. So it's a dream for now.

If we were gonna talk about dreams that will never happen, then I'd want to put together a full date run of these (including of course the 1815, 1819, 1821, 1822, and 1829. Maybe a hoard will turn up in Europe in my lifetime, I can always dream image

Small Eagle Half dollar, eagle, or half eagle. Those and the $50 slugs have always been favorites of mine.

Other than that - a certain 1873-CC Seated dollar also ranks pretty high.
Want to buy an auction catalog for the William Hesslein Sale (December 2, 1926). Thanks to all those who have helped us obtain the others!!!

I currently already own my dream coin, so I guess I need to find an alternate for the time being!

I guess the next piece on my list would be a 1794 Dollar followed by a 1793 Strawberry Leaf Cent

An 1804 Large 8 over Small 8 Half Eagle in original, unmessed-with AU-50 to AU-58... the challenging part is the original & unmessed-with piece. There just isn't that many around anymore, but I hope it'll happen in 2011.
