My most prized autograph is that of Frank Gotch. Died at a young age and is simply regarded as the greatest wrestler ever. His fame lead to the creation of high school wrestling programs in Iowa and throughout the United States.....his correspondence home to Humboldt Iowa was all destroyed in the mid 1990s when the daughter of his wife burned it all when she went to sell the family home. The daughter of Frank's wife did not care for him because that was not her dad....a tough, tough autograph to find. I stumbled upon this when I bought the postcard on ebay thinking I was just buying the postcard. Sometimes you just get really lucky........

I remember the name Bobo Brazil - did he wrestle in the 50s/60s?

    Very cool cards.

When I was a kid - NYC - I think they broadcasted wrestling on WPIX or WOR - from Sunnyside Gardens.

I remember alot of names from that era.

edit: just checked and memory was correct - here's a pic - SS Gardens was torn down in 1977.

Was the Patterson from a private signing in Rio?

Another collector offered it to me and we reached a deal. I did not see his signing.

Oh wow!!! The Mascaras card has been a real sleaper and never goes cheap anymore. I am not sure how rare the auto is but that is awesome!!!!

Get that baby slabbed for sure!

I have heard that he does limited public outings and is difficult to work with. I plan on getting it slabbed before the end of the month with the PSA/DNA special continuing. I'm pretty excited about this one. The card is in decent shape too and great for an autograph considering the handling.

The Mascaras is one of the tough yellow cards. His raw card is in the book at $3 bucks or so and routinely sells between $18 and $22.

    Beckett needs to wake up!

Great card Rob! Looks very sharp in the scan!

One of my suppliers of these signed wrestling cards has told me that Mil Mascaras is one of the most popular (price attained in sale) out of the living guys from the wrestling all star set.

I would tend to agree although I am keeping mine.

Watch some Youtube clips, this guy was awesome.

I have no idea what a signed card would go for but raw that is at least a $20 card, yet Beckett has it for $3.00 image What a joke.

    Keep building your set!

I figure I will get a PSA/DNA Hogan and then I will just have slabbed cards unsigned of Andre the Giant, Dick the Bruiser and Bruiser Brody. I'd just like to get to 100% for Series A and then move on to the others and finish them that way...

Where you going to get a PSA slabbed Hogan? That will be such a sweet card!
  • wrestlingcardkingwrestlingcardking Posts: 4,555 ✭✭✭✭
I have a possibility from a source and holding a raw one in case I spot a signing somewhere.

Mil Mascaras has been added to the up coming signing that American Icon is putting together. The price is very good for his auto.
