I am guessing the Andre card will be hard to get?

I would imagine the Gino Hernandez would be tougher than even Brody's. Also, I'm presuming the Tiger Mask card to be representing Sayama, and not Misawa, correct? That may be tough in general, but would be a lot tougher if it were Misawa (RIP).

The Andre card signed would be very expensive. I am thinking $500+ easy if it could be confirmed as his real signature.

I spoke to a guy from NY recently who has a bunch of these signed and he said Gino Hernandez would be by far the hardest to get signed.

He died in early 1986 and was in charachter at all times. His card came out in early 1983 and he did not sign anything for anyone.

The heals in the old days stayed in charachter and getting signatures from guys like Dick Murdoch, and others was almost impossible.

The other big thing is these cards are being signed today and not back in the early 1980's.

This same guy had four items to get signed by Nick Bockwinkle and he signed three and took the card becuase he wanted it for himself and was unaware he was on a "baseball card".

The Tiger Mask card is of Tiger Mask.

Man if you watch this guy on Youtube it is unreal what a great true wrestler he was.

It is mind blowing that guys could grapple and fly like he could. His matches against Dynamite Kid are just unreal!

I am guessing Hogan's auto would be the easier one to get of what is missing.

The pool of buyers for Andre and Hogan in particular have exploded. I used to recognize every bidder, now I know just a few.

One word of advice, every Wrestling All Stars card that is raw is advertised about two grades higher then they are.

REAL NICE group of autos you have ... CONGRATS! Those names bring back a lot of fun memories watching WWF in the mid-late 70s.

The reason these sets are really hitting home with people is many of the big names from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's are featured.

Guys like Dick The Bruiser and The Chruser come to mind.

It's just a shot of the mask? If not, I was just going by the time frame of the set that it was Sayama, since the gimick was moved until after the set was released I believe.

As for the comment about the Hernandez card, I figured he would have to be the toughest outside of The Grand Wizard (I wonder if he signed any prior to his passing).

    It would be Sayama.

Mitsuharu Misawa didn't take over the gimmick until 1984. He wrestled under the mask until 1990. It lay dormant for awhile before being taken up by Koji Kanemoto for a year or so. There's been at least 2 others since then as well, if I remember correctly.

Of these, Sayama is most-famous for the gimmick but Misawa was far-and-away the best wrestler of the bunch.

Dynamite Kid was the great wrestler in those matches. Sayama (Tiger Mask) was sloppy as hell and did stuff that made no sense, even in the context of pro wrestling. He had to have someone who could lay out a good match for him and keep him under control - like Dynamite Kid, who is widely considered one of the 10 or 20 best wrestlers of all-time.

Sayama's best work is actually the stuff he did as "Super Tiger" or as himself in the UWF. He went there in 1984 & 1985 and worked a realistic style with future superstars Akira Maeda and Nobuhiko Takada. They had some great matches featuring some serious heavy-hitting. Akira Maeda would go on to form RINGS, one of the longest-running MMA groups (they're the fed where Fedor Emelianenko got his start). Nobuhiko Takada would form UWFI, a pro wrestling group that drew huge numbers for a couple years, before he went into MMA, headlining the first-ever Pride show. For those that don't know, Pride was the largest MMA group in Japan and probably the best MMA federation ever before a Yakuza scandal forced them to shut their doors.

Thanks for the great info. This must explain why Tiger Mask is not a more popular wrestler from the set.

Here is a link to a card on EBAY so you can see what it looks like.

    Very cool project.

I've been working on a signed 1981 OPC Hockey sticker set for a year now and am at 130/269 (though I may not get all 269 signed).

Unfortunately I've run into three deceased players, so I purchased signed index cards on eBay and added the stickers to the index card for my set:

    image

You could consider keeping an eye out on the deceased wrestlers and glue a low conditioned card to the from of a larger index card, or on the back of a smaller one. PSA will slab them, too.

    Very nice.

The seller got $250 a card for Bruiser, Kerry Von Erich, and Gino Hernandez. I believe these are one of a kind items and I think they are worth every penny.

You have 1/1 Auto's going for thousands that are artificialy created. These are an example of natural low supply.

You have to do what you think is best. I missed out on some cards a few months ago I wish I did not. Sometimes you find them again, sometimes you don't.
