86 Donruss Set 87 Donruss Wax x 2 91 Stadium Club BB Series 1 87 Sportflics BB Set 89 Hoops Series 1 >>
I busted the Hoops box and got 3 Robinson RC's, 3 Jordans, 3 Jordan A/S and various others nice ones like 3 Mitch Richmond RCs. All nicely centered. For $8 a box, that's hard to beat.
I opened five packs of the Stadium Club and already got the Griffey Jr, Thomas and Ryan Tux which were the three I wanted, so I might stop there and leave the rest sealed for a rainy day.
86 Donruss set has nice bricks, well centered, box is trashed though. Will keep it sealed.
87 Sportsflics set. Very intriguing, nice cards, heavy box. For $5, what the heck.
87 Donruss wax, opened 10 packs so far with nothing. Should have bought one wax and one factory set, they were the same price.
So overall, another positive Steve Hart experience. Especially the Hoops, which is so easy to search with the Robinson sequence.
Kiss me once, shame on you. Kiss me twice.....let's party.
I remember pulling the hidden Pistons card from the Hoops set and the dealer offering me $20 on the spot. Kept if becuase he was willing to give me too much so I knew something was up. Worthless now
That Stadium Club set was when young people like me were priced out of the pack market. I remember when the card dealer made it clear that if you wanted the real winner it was these. Obviously that did not happen.
That set is an awesome set with unreal photos and the first true premium printing beyond the break through 1989 Upper Deck set the hobby had every witnessed.
It looks like they raised the price to $6 bucks, already 20% more expensive.
Some of these packs and factory sets I think will uptick in price some. Not saying a ton but at lottery ticket prices some will want to revisit their childhood or prior years and this is a low cost way to go back in time.
They were out of the '85 boxes I guess, they're now gone from the website and I didn't get mine
Not much to report, the '78s and '81s were outstanding although the only star (payton) was a little off centered. Should have many upgrades to my raw sets from these.
The '86s were very much like most I've opened, centering all over the place, lost a few cards due to insert sticking to facing card.
The '84s were horrible, the majority of them were tilted and off center.
