Best time to list on eBay over the holidays....

Do you think it is better to list stuff on eBay this Sunday so that they end on Sunday after Thanksgiving

OR

List stuff on eBay the Sunday after Thanksgiving so they end the following week?

Trying to get an idea for maximum exposure.....

I would never end something on a busy holiday weekend. That Sunday is one of the most heavily traveled days of the year, and lots of potential buyers are not going to be at their computers. I say this with 138 listings set to go up that Sunday to end a week later, so let it be known that I practice what I preach.

I will run many auctions ending on the holiday weekend on sunday, a few on saturday and friday.

I run auctions every week, so it's the norm for me.

PLUS, many auctions sure seem to get RUN UP this time of year.

My error coin sets make wonderful gifts.

  • I won't be listing anything scheduled to end that weekend , but i will be front and centre hoping to buy or snag a real bargain.Which got me thinking , i bet i'm not the only one aware that some superb deals can be had on a holiday so there might actually be more competition than one might think.

and with everyone listing/end on the same day, more competition for the same money

Good material sells well any day of the year. Average, run of the mill stuff will languish. I have no fear of listing the Sunday after T-Day. This question comes up every year at this time and you will get the same answers. Some of my best days selling were this time of the year. I've been selling for almost 10 years on eBay, take it for what it's worth.
  • I find that most of my coins sell to snipers anyway. Most probably put bids in on the day that I list them, so listing the the sunday after thanks might get less views than the sunday before

I've been selling on eBay for 10 years also, and I've come to the conclusion, it makes no difference as to ending time, day of the week, holidays or weekends. If someone wants your merchandise & it's not a fixed price auction, they will bid, regardless what time of day it is or if it's a holiday or not. Some of my best results, due to my mistake, are auctions that ended at 2-4AM in the mornings. Go figure
