    Hey folks,

Just opened up my SS package. Very fun and unexpected gifts. Four in all. The first two were a 1991 Stadium Club members only set and a Nolan Ryan bronze piece.

3rd gift was a TMCA set that I've been meaning to pick up at some point:
    image

4th gift was a sweet Steven Stamkos auto. A very indestructible xmas present:

    Thanks!

Off to visit Grandma for Christmas eve so the kids made me (Didn't take much convincing lol) open my Secret Santa package.

Before I say what Santa brought I would just like to say how much fun this was for me and the kids.

Santa was more than generous in his gifts.
I was thrilled with my childhood heroes and my kids were even more thrilled with theirs.
Thank you Santa for making this a great family memory for me that I will always cherish.

So what did Santa send you ask... A great auto card of "The Big E" Elvin Hayes, my all time favorite Bullet.

Auto cards of the Great Charley Taylor, Mark Moseley and lil' Joe Washington.

A Beautiful Auto/Jersey Card of the mouth that roared and leg that broke Joe "rhymes with" Theismann.

But wait, that's not all, he also sent my kids (they have already claimed them as their own) jersey cards of Campbell, Rogers, Moss, Randle El,
    Gardner and Clinton Portis.

This was a great way to start the holiday with my kids and I can't thank my Santa enough.
My kids also wanted to thank you for the fun.

I hope everyone has a great Holiday and gets the chance to share it with the ones you love.

Merry Christmas/ Hanukkah/ Kwanza TO ALL .... Crazylegs

  • I love 80s Topps cards.

Santa sent me several packs, and I am going to try to leave them mostly unopened. There were 3 1983 Topps packs, 2 shown below, and a 1983 Topps Rack Pack. I opened the rack pack.

I have been wanting to get a 1986 pack and leave it unopened for the Young collection.

    Thanks Santa.

Wanted to post the great cards Santa brought.

These will hold a key spot in my collection...

The other jersey cards have been wrestled from my hands by my children and are
now tucked away safely in their rooms.

Santa has helped me grow the future of Skins fandom and card lovers by 2.

Thanks again you made our day!!

Just got home from my parents house ... first thing I did was yell to my wife and girls "WOO HOO" ... it's time to open my SS gifts. (One from this board and one from the "other" board.)

I was FLAWED by what I got in BOTH packages. My Secret Santas were AMAZING!!!! I am still shocked by what I received. I am going to go change and come back later and scan what I received so you guys can enjoy these gifts as well.

Once again ... thanks so much to my SS ... you guys are AWESOME.
    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • I got 3 Bat cards of current players, a couple mini cards and 28 Stephen Drew Rookie Cards....

Hopefully my person enjoyed their gift a bit more than I did!
  • My wife and I came home from dinner and we noticed it was very very "MUGGY" --

And my life LOVED the assortment of single cards even more than the packs.

I have a bunch of emails --- if someone wants to help me I can forward the emails and have them posted to this thread -- what a WONDERFUL idea and I hope to be invited back next year

And I don't know if the Muggy man knew this -- but I grew up in the NY area and the I Love NY little stuff would have been perfect in itself

Muggyman, your video is awesome. The gum experiment being the highlight, with a close second going to your wife/girlfriend filming your cat. Glad you didn't edit that part out. A real slice of Muggyman life.

    Merry Christmas.

Not nice. Enjoy the gift of giving and Merry Christmas. image
  • I enjoyed giving my gift, made sure it was extremely nice, but pretty sure one of the rules was "20$" min or something, I don't mean to be picky but I was atleast expecting like 20$ not a ton of rookie cards of someone I've never heard of that I can't get cents for.

If you got something from your SS then there is no need to complain. You never know what they were going through at the time they sent you your gift. Just be thankful someone sent you something. I couldn't send as much as I wanted this year but I sent what I could afford. Price has no meaning to me when I get something from another person, it's the thought that means something to me.

PS. I hope the receiver of my SS package enjoys it image

I wasn't your santa, but I'm sure that whoever it was tried their best. Over the years, I've received "gifts" valued at $20 to $300. Don't sweat it too much, it was the just for fun anyway.

A big THANK YOU to my Secret Santa for the Saberhagen autograph! He was a large part of the Royals championship year in '85.

The Tony D. card brings back memories of wax busting in '83 - another big year of cards for me!

    Merry Christmas to everyone!

Here is my FANTASTIC gift that my SS sent me. I think I will just list what I received from my SS on this board, so as not to take anything away from either one of my Secret Santas.

Each one of the cards represents the three players I am currently collecting. What more could I have asked for?

Growing up he was my favorite pitcher
    image

Always liked this guy. One of the greatest.
    image

My IDOL growing up. Will ALWAYS be my favorite player of all time.
    image

Once again ... thank you SO MUCH to my Secret Santa. He went over and above what I could have ever expected. Since I have been honest so far, I guess there is ONE thing that disappointed me ... When I saw the PSA 4 REGGIE ROOKIE I really thought that I would also get a '52 Mantle PSA 4 ROOKIE ... HAHAHA ... of course I am joking. SECRET SANTA ... thank you SOOOOO much. You made this recipient a happy guy!

Mr. W. ... you are mistaken. I am a MET fan who also roots for the Yankees. HOWEVER, as a kid I was a YANKEES fan and THE MICK was my IDOL. He will ALWAYS be my favorite baseball player of all time.

Mark ... I was SO lucky with my Secret Santas this year. My gifts on the "Other Board" were just as nice. (Hoping to post my awesome gifts on the other board soon.)

A big thank you to jmhockey23 for my SS gift. He sent 15+ Dan Marino cards, a signed James Lofton rc and a signed Willie Wood rc - which I've been searching FOREVER for. What's funny is that I'm 95% certain that it's the same card that I lost on E-Bay last month...lol. Thanks for the great gift - and thanks to jimrad for arranging.

WOW!!! What an amazing list of SS gifts so far!! Yet another great video from Muggyman!

I am completely FLOORED by the gift I received!!!!!

Aside from the THREE 1982 Topps Rack Packs that I received as an "appetizer" to tide me over until Christmas Eve, I also received this wrapped box.

    image

I rip that sucker open, lo and behold... HOLY CRAP!!! A 1982 Fleer wax BOX!!! I always wanted to crack one of these babies open!!

    image

Then I notice an unusual bulge coming out of the box. It's abnormally full. So I open the box and I let out an audible *YELP*.

    image

It's a freaking 1982 Topps Cello pack with RIPKEN on the freaking front!! Are you kidding me???

    image

The box also contained some other random Ripken goodness!

    image

I ripped into that box and pulled one slightly OC Ripken, but it's good enough to replace the one that's in my raw set! This turned out to be an error box, but I didn't pull a Littlefield or Jackson. Tons of minty-fresh cards!

I'm going to sub that Ripken pack, and start collecting cellos with Ripken on front! I've been contemplating starting something like this, and the RC on front is a great way to start! image

What an INSANE generous gift!! I'm gonna spill who my Secret Santa was, because he deserves to be recognized. It was JIMRAD! Thank you for not only going WAY overboard on my gift, but also thank you for setting up the Secret Santa Gift Exchange this year. I can only imagine how much of a pain it can be to make a list, check it twice, and keep track of who has been naughty and nice. YOU DA MAN!!!

Secret Santa has delivered and been scanned for your viewing pleasure now that the 11 year old is done opening his, yes, he still believes, but had been asking questions for 2 weeks.

    Eye Candy! Thanks Santa!!
    image

Just not too sure on the YANKEES Clemens. Still like Rog, don't care too much about the roids (just evening the field), but YANKEES? image Just kidding thanks again Santa.
  • Much thanks to greg m for my secret santa gift. I got an autographed Mike Ditka card! I'll add a scan when I get home.
  • As I told my SS -- the little things he threw in with I Love NY logo meant a ton to me as I was from the NY area before I moved to Dallas in 1990.

Actually; meant more to me than the cards; and he did not even know that -- I think it's very MUGGY around the North Pole
