Sunshine silver bars. Is there any collectability here or are they just for
industrial applications?
thanks,
bob

edited to add: have not seen the bars. Too heavy to carry, back in his safe.

Twenty years ago we had a guy come in with one to sell that he had bought during the Hunt Brothers madness. Once he decided he was going to be keeping it for a while, he had painted it green and left it on the floor in his office as a doorstop.

The OP said "bars" so I assume it was several bars with a total weight of 1000 ozs.

The way it was written, I assumed he meant multiple 1,000 ounce bars. We had a guy inquire a few weeks back about selling seven of them. People who can afford them can usually afford more than one.

I also took it to mean 1000 oz bars... as in a single bar being 1000ozes, but more (or many?) then 1.

More than one 1,000 oz bars. Each bar over 68 pounds.

  • I remember going into a coin shop down near Detroit some years ago, Rare Coins of Michigan,
and there was a 1000 oz silver bar setting on one of the reinforced glass counter tops..
The shop owner , Ron & Phyllis Bristol commented to the small group in the store,
that if you could lift the bar with outstretched arms and make it to to door,
you could have it !!! Hahahahhaaaaa
(I think they still own it)....
