Photos by Mark Goodman. You think the hit on the reverse shield will preclude a gem grade?

Very nice, I wouldn't worry to much about the one hit on the shield, in real life I imagine it's pretty small.

PCGS MS64+ or MS65. I can post my MS64 later, without the intention of hijacking, just for comparison purposes.

There, I found it. A purchase from Marcel at CICF 2006. Good old prerecession days.

The cheek looks very clean, and no real central distractions of note. I'd grade it 65. Nice!
If it only grades 63, I'll pay you melt plus fees, plus postage.

Interestingly enough, there are no gems graded for 1883 at PCGS.

I like the earlier Swiss 20CHF a little better than the later ones.

65, and even 64 to some extent are rare grades for the type. I concur with Mac, yours is a lock 65.

It is a small hit away from being an MS66.

It should be a 65. I've seen "bilge water" examples (Vreneli) in PCGS MS65 slabs.
Obviously, the graders were eating bean burritos the day your 20fr crossed, and just couldn't sit still.

I guess I missed this one the first time around- I think 65 seems reasonable
I suspect the old saying the that the reverse can only hurt the grade seems to hold true with this one

I think that should be an easy 65. For gold that's an easy 66, nearly 67, if not for those shield hits.
