I use much more cardboard than this guy does, but
his video is still a good reminder that bubble-mailers
alone are NOT the correct solution.

    ................................

USPS Clerk: "Anything hazardous, persihable, or fragile?"

Customer: "Yes. Please stamp the item 'fragile' and 'do not bend'."

If you drop stuff off w/o the clerk's help, use a RED marker on the
bubble mailer. "Fragile" and "Do Not Bend" and "Do Not Crush."

    ......

If you use Delivery Confirmation, a "Scan Me" sticker or writing
"Scan Me" next to the label is a good idea.

    4SC does
  • I recently dropped off a card and told the usps clerk that it was fragile/condition sensative and she said "oh well they dump it into the crate any way"

Not very happy after seeing this

My items go in a bubble mailer, but a larger one that gets double folded over. PSA Set Guy/Irvine sends single cards in a large bubble mailer I think...I could be wrong.

I try to use double bubble mailers with card board, i just recycle used mailers I receive.

mailer alone not much better than PWE

i had a $1k card shipped in a bubble mailer, no dc, no added protection, it was BGS slab but still...

cardboard is your friend, the very bestest friend you can get.

a bubble mailer is just bubble WRAP with a colorful blanket on it.....have you seen what little kids do to bubble wrap? image
  • After getting a PSA card back in pieces that I had sent in a bubble mailer 2 years ago, now every graded card I sell gets sent in bubble wrap and in a box.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

If every seller packaged their cards as well as itzagoner, there would
be no threads about any cards being damaged in shipping appearing on the CU site any longer. 'Goner is a pro when it comes to packaging.

In defense of 4-sharp corners, they usually use a larger mailer and fold it over to cushion the slab. Which I think works perfectly. I've never had a card/slab damaged from 4-sharp due to their excellent packaging.

For expensive cards I put the card in a bubble mailer, then a small flat rate priority box, then put that box in another bubble mailer.

4SC usually uses the foldover method, but not always. Having said that, I've never received a damaged slab from them, regardless of the packaging.

no broken slabs, that's taboo around here.

thanks for the compliment c/b, you know i want my customers to feel secure, or be presented a steep challenge without possession of a very sharp object. image

i know that some sellers would prefer to take their chances with postal handlers and deal with occasional headaches, but i don't enjoy having to assemble a group of reholders like i just did today, which included a few poorly packed, then damaged....so far though, no catastrophes or PWE's.
