***cool DMPL pickup at an antique show in Portland --- and some Mettlach for you beer stein lovers!

I attended the gigantic antique show at the Portland Expo Center this weekend. I was hunting for Mettlach steins by the artist Heinrich Schlitt to grow my collection (picked up a nice 1/4 liter from 1896!, see below).......and I was surprised to come across this very nice cameo DMPL Morgan at one of the very few coin dealers at the show.....I couldn't pass it up.

.....I couldn't believe the grade that NGC gave it either.....I cut the grade out to add some mystery......

Thats an easy 65 on the 82-0.....nice !!!!!!
EDIT: Ouch, just looked at the reverse closer........still say 65 tho

The cheek looks like a 65 or possibly a 66, but there appears to be a lot of chatter in the fields. While I'd like to see it in-hand, a 62 wouldn't surprise me.

NGC gave it a 64DPL... But it looks more like a 65DPL.

Nice stein. Are those marks on the Eagles wing on the coin or the holder? If on the coin, I would say 62/63. Cheers, RickO

Marks on wing under a loop appear to be carbon or dirt, not hits.
