Decided to hold off on the "old coin field" today in effort to try raising the silver count for the year. Went to a place that has yielded silver coins before (nothing older than a Merc though). Even though this area is probably only 30 feet tall by 100 feet wide, it seems to produce silver each time.

Ended today with:
1947 Roosevelt Dime
1947 Roosevelt Dime #2
1952 Roosevelt Dime (bent somehow, but at least I picked this one to gouge with my shovel since it was already damaged)

The final "keeper" for the day gave a signal that at the time sounded sort of like a wheat cent. After a couple shovel fulls, out pops this thing... at first it looked like the bowl of a spoon 'cause it was so large. After picking it up, I realized it was a Catholic religious pendant. And boy is it hefty! It probably dates to the '50s or '60s based on the other finds from this area. Weight is 18.6 grams!

Happy Halloween and Hunting all!
