Looks like a half eagle rather than an eagle. No way would I buy a raw gold coin off eBay in this heavily counterfeited series even with much better pics.

Perry you're good. But I'm gooder. I downloaded the pict, used my photoshop to clean up the glare & overexposure and it plainly shows that it's a $2.5 dollar gold piece.

How can you tell that it's a quarter eagle rather than a half eagle? They both used the same design and the denomination is not clear in those crappy pics.

He also calls it an eagle and I trust this seller's description as much as I trust his photographic skills. It's most likely a quarter eagle and there is a small possibility that it's actually authentic.
