Based on last night's game, I was not impressed with Jeff Green at all, nor that tall Euro-Trash player.
  • Hey !!!! Yankee Patsy fan !!! You spell "heatless" with two s's !!! Here's to Shaq bringing your Cellies down, Brady breaking his leg (hell they can't win anymore anyway unless they cheat) and what are those other teams ??? EHHH Nobody cares !!
Any team on any given Sunday, can beat any other team...unless they were playing the Miami Dolphins in 1972.

You might want to take that back after losing to the Thunder

A couple of nice wins by the C's to get back on track.
  • ConnecticoinConnecticoin Posts: 12,868 ✭✭✭✭✭
It will be a race to the finish for the best record in the East. I just hope the C's end up with a better record than the Lakers.

It is getting ugly now with the latest loss.

Still waiting for Shaq to return -- he needs some PT before the playoffs.

Nice to get a win on the road yesterday.

this seems similar to last year

<<<this seems similar to last year>>>

A little bit. The only thing that has me concerned is whether the new guys truly grasp what Doc is trying to do. Plus, they still have to get Shaq on the floor for a few games before the playoffs to shake the rust off.

Right now the Celts are 6 deep with guys you know you can trust (Rondo, KG, Pierce, Allen, Shaq, Baby). Maybe Green, West, and Krystic get there in time, but I'm not hopeful. I'm always been a huge Delonte fan, but he looks lost right now.

Last year they mailed it in at the end of the regular season, to get healthy for the post season. This year they are not and they are having trouble winning games.
  • ConnecticoinConnecticoin Posts: 12,868 ✭✭✭✭✭
OK, got win #54. Still hoping they at least end up with more than the Lakers. I think they can beat the Bulls or Heat in a series without home court advantage, but not the Lakers.
  • GarabaldiGarabaldi Posts: 2,004 ✭✭✭
They need Shaq to give them at least 15 minutes per game to help out their interior defense.
  • ConnecticoinConnecticoin Posts: 12,868 ✭✭✭✭✭
Geez, they just laid down againt the Bulls in the 4th quarter. image

Announcers think they are saving themselves for the playoffs. Bad strategy -- playing sh*tty can become a bad habit.
  • baseballfanbaseballfan Posts: 5,458 ✭✭✭
yeah they did not look good in the 4th at all

    i don't know whats up???

Ok, Lakers and C's both have 55 wins -- let's hope the Celtics can run the table and get home court for the Finals image

    boy they stink right now...

i hope their working on something because the knicks could give them trouble

Well, they rested the entire Big 4 last night -- which perplexes me, because I thought Doc would want to have a better record than the Lakers. But what do I know. image

  • There are 4 teams that can make that claim. I'm going with the Heat and Lakers right now.

Hopefully we get a win as I will be attending.

C's not impressive in wins over crippled Knicks. Hopefully they will get their sh*t together by Round 2.

they are at least playing well in crunch time of the games, hopefully it continues

Great series for the C's and well deserved rest.
  • jdip9jdip9 Posts: 1,894 ✭✭✭
halfway down page 2, time to bump back up.

I'm not ready to concede this series to the Heat, as the Heat have proven this season to go through stretches where things start going bad, then snowball into something worse. They haven't faced real adversity yet, but if Boston wins the next two at home, then adversity is staring the Heat right in the face.... These 4 days off should do them some good. This C's team has never been down 2 games in a playoff series, time to see what they really are.
  • GarabaldiGarabaldi Posts: 2,004 ✭✭✭
Well, we will see how old the C's are tonight. The effort is there, but the Heat are much younger and more athletic.

Huge win for the Heat, they played a very good game. Wade and James hit some really big shots in the end.
  • LET'S GO HEAT !!! LET'S GO HEAT!!! LET'S GO HEAT-LESS !!

I never thought I'd hate another player more than Kobe Bryant. LeBron James has just assumed the throne. His 10-second huffing and puffing after hitting the clinching 3 was nauseating. For once, I'd like to see him act like he's been there before.

Most everyone said, "Rondo will be the difference in this series".

    Everyone was right!

"The trio model" (Pierce-Allen-Garnett) had worked for the Celtics in years past.

"The trio model" (Wade-James-Bosh) seems to be working right now for the Heat!

The heat trio scored 83 points to KO Boston.

The Celtics bench was not good enough in this series and the team just did not execute at the end of the last two games. If Rondo was healthy, I believe this series would be 3-2 right now. Look at what Teague has done for Atlanta. He has been the difference maker in that series. The Celtics need to find young athletic players for next year to assist the aging big three.

Celtics need to retool and bring in some younger players to go with KG, Allen, Pierce and Rondo. Had Rondo not been hurt, the Celtics may have won more games.

If the Bulls win against Atlanta, I would think that the Heat would probably have too much firepower for the Bulls to overcome. Derrick Rose is amazing, but the rest of the Bulls do not measure up to the depth of the Heat.

Seeing a Mavericks vs. Heat championship rematch would be fun.

P.S. I have watched some of the Thunder-Grizzlies games. All I can say is that Russell Westbrook may be one of the quickest and best players in the entire league. He is unbelieveable.

Very true, but Pierce, Allen, and Garnett were all in their 30s and hadn't won any titles when they came together, and they were brought together by a series of trades by their GM. The Heat "Big 3" concocted a scheme 2 years ago to get together in their PRIMES to win titles together, rather than try to lead their own teams to a title. Along the way they held about 5-6 teams hostage by pretending to be interested in testing the free agent market.

I realize that Pierce and Garnett are not very popular outside of Boston, but Miami is completely and utterly unlikeable.

The "depth" of the Heat? Three guys score 80% of their points! I'm hanging my hat on the fact that Thibideau will develop a defensive gameplan that will keep those guys in check.

My cousin was an owner of the Boston Celtics back in the Red Auerbach days. I enjoyed watching those basketball games. But even with a relative as a team owner, I rooted for whoever was playing the Celtics, as I thought Red Auerbach was "full of himself".

Years later, now I still can't stand to see Boston win, and feel, the whole team, not just the coach, are, "full of themselves"! image

As far as the Miami Heat goes, I live in South Florida and watched and enjoyed the Miami Heat since "day one" of their franchise. Despite your hatred of Lebron, and all the "published hype" this past year, Lebron James has the #1 selling NBA Jersey and Wade is not to far behind.

So, it seems others do like him outside of Miami (and Boston! LOL!!!).

edit: My cousin was: Bob Schmertz (only older die hard Boston fans will remember his name!)

If fact, my cuz's letter to Red (too funny!) (credits: SCP Auctions, this piece was just auctioned, April 2011)

Really??? I hate watching Westbrook. Dribbles in circles, is out of control a lot of the time and just chucks up a shot. Give me Rondo all day every day over somebody like Westbrook. If the Thunder had a playmaker like Rondo that series wouldn't be close.

rd, that is a cool piece of memorabilia....

I do hate the Heat, but I'm probably more upset by the fact that during this 4-year run the C's have had, they've only won 1 title. I feel like this team has been too good to have only won one, and the window is closing fast, if not already closed, to win another one.
