If this set has 1.2 ounces silver then melt is $26.19 and the mint sells them for $29.95
Edit. Changed $29 to $26.19 for 90% silver

Of course the 2009 silver quarters are no longer for sale ... and when they were, the silver price was a lot lower than now. BTW the 2010 5 coins silver quarter set is selling for $32.95
I knew it would happen.
<< <i>The 2010 should be a low mintage set because of the rising price. I consider this set to have some real possibilities. >>
I was looking at the mint stats this morning and was thinking the same thing.

<< <i>Aren't they 90% silver just like the pre 64 quarters? If so, based on $24.05 silver spot, melt value would be $26.04

The 2009 set is still available on the mint site for 29.95.
at 24.50 spot you are looking at 17.00 on 90% x $1.50 = $25.50.
a play once you hit around $20 on 90%, but that is roughly $32/oz on spot

You are correct...Unusual for the 2009 sets to be still available after the 2010 sets came out.

I believe they are considered a different series of coin. Yes they are quarters but they are not America the Beautiful Quarters.
BTW, I just loaded up on these sets as IMO they represent a heck of a deal given silvers price increases. Just a couple more bucks and it'll be a push. I'm actually quite surprised that these are still available at that price. Well, shocked is more of the word I was looking for as never before have I ever seen such a low spread between melt and selling price.
Today, it sits at a little over $3.00.
Maybe I'll get lucky and score some errors or varieties to show an immediate return on investment? If things go south, the loss should not be too terribly difficult to handle. (Kinda wish I'd hung onto those 2008 Dollar sets a little longer! )
