How does (did) the US Mint subscription program work?

I signed up for 2 ASE proof. Even if I don't expect a quick sell out, I foresee a pretty busy website on the release date.
Is the Mint going to ship them before the regular orders received through their website/phone#?
Has this program worked fine before?
Can you share your experience?

Call customer service and get it from the horse's cousin's mouth (Customer service is contracted out). Let us know what you find out.

Subscriptions are spotty as far as delivery on time. I have subscriptions for the ASE proofs this year only as a backup. I will be ordering the first day so I am covered both ways.

I had subscriptions up until two years ago. They worked really well and I received my product quickly. Faster than placing the order over the phone or website. Cheers, RickO

But, do subscriptions, placed before the coins are made available on the website, go to the front of the delivery line?
