It's a very respectable first time effort. I liked it.


I understand that most people expect cartoons to be funny and so do I, but the truth is that several "modern" cartoons aren't funny, most aren't even trying, it's not their goal. Laurent's son has created a cartoon of the sort and it has been awarded despite its lack of the traditional humour usually found in older classics.

One thing to remember, is that unless you have an extraordinary character that makes people laugh with the minimum effort in graphics (ex. Garfield), cartoons are A LOT of work, and it's basically two different disciplines into one. Design and script, with the added constraint of trying to economise as much text as possible.

I think that there's room for improvement here, both in the text and the design of the main character who doesn't stand out as he should, but all in all to Darkhorse!

Where is the cartoon that ends with a guy selling his coin collection at fire sale prices because of a very large long distance phone bill at college?

I just want to puke when I think about the girl and my collection. Ugh
